I had a friend that was into war comics in the late '70s and early '80s but can't say if he ever read this one. It's because of him I ever read any Unknown Soldier and Enemy Ace etc. though. Interesting story about this Willy Schultz comic though.

Did anyone here collect or has issues of Fightin Army ? I had a handful of Charlton war comics, including one Fightin' Army reprint, with Willy Schultz. I had way more DC war books and Sgt Fury. I have a digital collection of all of the Willy Schultz issues and one of a selection of Charlton books. Willy Schultz was by far the best feature in Fightin Army. Fightin' Marines had Shotgun Harker & Chicken, which had many good stories. Will Franz & Sam Glanzman's Iron Corporal, in Army War Heroes was pretty good; and, they had The Devil's Brigade, in War Heroes. Attack had some decent stories in it, from time to time. Tom Sutton did quite a few of them, in that book. |
