MOVIES that you've watched in THEATRES - Watched Once ...And, never, ever watched again! For me it is District 9I went to see this movie back in 2009 and according to the internet 92 percent liked this movie; I went with a bunch of guys that I know of and we all ended disliking this movie for different reasons and this movie got high marks for Best Makeup winning the Ray Bradbury Award. I haven't seen this movie ever since then and I just find this movie not my cup of tea and felt that this movie was a total waste of time seeing it and being hard of hearing -- the music sometimes overpowered the movie and I couldn't hear the actors/actresses were saying. In my mind, this is the worst movie that I have seen in the past 20 years and that alone is not good for me. I know that some of you might like this movie and please be aware that everyone has the rights to their opinion; but after watching it for the 1st 30 minutes -- I was bored to death and my friends and I was struggling to deal with it. The music, the lengthy dialogue, and too many scenes going back and forth confusing me and furthermore causing me to further distance me from the film itself. It had a budget of 30 Million and made 210 Million USD. Now, what movies that you seen in the THEATRES once and never, ever bother see it again. I would love to hear from all of you here in CCF Land.

The most overhyped movie in recent memory.

Sure...but does anyone even care anymore? The big draw for Avatar was cutting edge CG and the return of James Cameron. But since the release of the first movie, we’ve witnessed something like 20 Marvel movies with dazzling effects. Hell, nearly every Hollywood blockbuster is loaded with fancy CGI effects these days. It was an eye candy extravaganza with an extremely cliched story we’ve seen in numerous movies in the past (Dances with Wolves, Fern Gully, The Last Samurai, etc) with no real fleshed out characters.

Avatar was a terrible film. I didn't see it at the cinema, but once was one time too many to sit through that rubbish.

I didn't care for the 2007 Film -- Eastern Promises either and this movie really bored me to death and haven't seen it since then. It's a complete waste of time.

There have been many movies I’ve only seen once. Superman 3 with Richard Pryor comes to mind.

A really really good movie that I saw in the theater but haven't seen since is Seven Psychopaths.
I've been meaning to see it again but I just have never gotten around to it.

If you seen Seven Psychopaths and it's an exceptional movie -- you need to reread my first post again and I'm saying that a bad movie that you seen in THEATRES watched once and never, ever seen it again. My picks of District 9 and Eastern Promises fit the bill. Sorry, that I mislead you here.

Mary Reilly, which I saw in the theater, for free. I was checking my watch about 10 minutes into the film.
Streets of Fire, though I have watched about 10 minutes, on tv. I went to see it, on the strength of the music video for one of the songs and came out of the theater hating the film; but, loving the soundtrack.
You can add Gor to that one. I had read the first three books of the fantasy series (before noticing that adventure was taking a back seat to fetish) and was curious (and bored, which is a bad way to end up paying to see an awful movie). Even at their worst, the books were never that bad. Kind of surprised MST3K only did the sequel and not the first one.
The Norsemen, with Lee Majors. Saw this at a drive-in, when I was a kid and never again (haven't even seen it in tv listings).
Welcome to the Dollhouse. My roommate wanted to see it and we went. I didn't find a single thing funny in it (it was marketed as a black comedy) and was horrified by how vile everyone in it was and how unredeeming the thing was. It just wallowed in people being nasty to one another. I couldn't even sympathize with the girl, as she exploits her little sister's disappearance (which was her fault). Uh, not thanks....
Mystic River-well done but just brutal and dark. No desire to revisit it. Same with Se7en, though I saw that on video and saw it one other time. Just unrelenting darkness. The real world is bad enough without that for entertainment. Not my cup of tea.

I finally thought of one. There are probably other...but they aren't coming to mind.
Chaplin, starring Robert Downey, Jr. My wife and I went to a matinee of this when we lived in Salt Lake City. I think there were four other people in the theater. It was an okay movie. But I've never really felt the need to revisit it. I wouldn't be opposed to doing so, but it seems unlikely.

I'd say most movies I've seen in the theatre I've seen only once. It's the ones I've seen more than once that would be in the minority.

I’m pretty sure he means movies you saw once in the theater and then never had any interest in watching again. There have been plenty for me, but Avatar is the one that comes to mind immediately. Prometheus would be up there for me as well. I looked forward to that movie for over two years and it turned out to be a pile of nonsensical garbage after the initial 30-45 minutes, which were great.
