Morbius is a great character. My first exposure to him was in PPTSSM #38, back in the day. IIRC, the beginning of this issue had three kids riding on bikes at night that were attacked by Morbius - very creepy. Though this wasn't the first appearance of the character in the MU (I think he had been in an older ASM issue), it was the first comic I saw him in - which made quite an impression to this life-long horror fan Hopefully this forthcoming film will generate enough interest in this obscure character so that a series of Morbius Classic reprints will be released. I would definitely be on board for a color collection of all of Morbius's'70's/'80's appearances - An ideal collection would be a thick Trade with the Vampire Tales mag. b&w appearances, as well as the color Adventure into Fear appearances. Barring that, I'd be all for a MMW collection of just the '70's AIF appearances, i.e. #20 - #31. Here's a link with more info. on the early - later appearances of the character: horrorpedia.com/2016/08/21/morb ... e-history/

There was a change in the Comics Code rules which resulted in a whole bunch of horror books popping up in the early '70s.

Although Morbius, IIRC, got around the mno vampire rules by not being undead. He was the LIVING vampire for a reason - to skirt comics code regs.

Interesting trailer and looks like it could be big/good as Venom if enough people check it out and realize it's part of Spidey/Venom. Nice to see Keaton in the trailer connecting the Spider-worlds together. Could be fun should Vulture go about setting up a Sinister Six for including Morbius and Venom (along with Shocker and a couple others) only to find out they aren't the "villains" he supposes them to be as they turn on him.

I'm sure I'll see it at some point, but it isn't anything I would rush out to see opening weekend.
Saw a glimpse of Matt Smith in the trailer. Curious if he's going to turn out to have a bigger role in the Spidey-verse or if he is just going to be contained solely to this movie as "generic law enforcement guy #3"

Looked pretty interesting to me, which is a plus as I hadn't thought that this could be good before.

I've been a fan of Marvel horror books since I was a kid and always had a soft spot for Morbius. But that trailer? Eh, looks like just another origin movie - boring. Like a modern audience can't believe in a living vampire? But I try not to judge movies based on the trailers, so I'll check reviews when it comes out. And as far as origin movies go, I did like the recent Joker film. So who knows? Anyhoo - I'm just stoked they're putting out a Morbius the Living Vampire Omnibus so thats good.

That trailer took my interest from zero to negative numbers - just seems so formulaic and cliched

That trailer took my interest from zero to negative numbers - just seems so formulaic and cliched Noisome CGI "flourishes" and makeup don't help, either.
