A poignant scene in the novel, perfectly depicted here by Dick Briefer.

In another coincidence, Bud Plant's weekly email ad starts off with this: IT'S ALIVE! A VISUAL HISTORY OF FRANKENSTEIN By Elizabeth Campbell Denlinger. This book shows how Mary Shelley created a monster. Commemorating the two-hundredth anniversary of Frankenstein, it traces the origins and impact of her novel -- a classic of world literature, a masterpiece of horror, and a forerunner of science fiction. Shelley conceived the archetype of the mad scientist who dares to flout the laws of nature. She devised a conflicted creature, eloquent and repulsive, torn between good and evil. In the movies he can be a brute pure and simple, yet he is still an object of compassion and remains a favorite on stage and screen. New York Public Library, 2018...More. Item Code: ITSALH Hard Cover - No Dustjacket, 8x11, 336pg, Text/Partial Color $47.50 ALSO AVAILABLE: FRANKENSTEIN The First Two Hundred Years Highly Recommended. By Christopher Frayling. This book, celebrating the 200th birthday of Frankenstein, traces the journey of Shelley's Frankenstein from limited-edition literature into the bloodstream of contemporary culture. With text by renowned Gothic scholar Sir Christopher Frayling, it includes new research on the novel's origins; a facsimile reprint of the earliest-known manuscript version of the creation scene; visual material on adaptations for the stage, in magazines, on playbills, in prints and in books of the 19th century; visual essays and stills on many of the film versions and their inspirations in the history of art; and Frankenstein in popular culture--on posters, advertisements, packaging, in comics and graphic novels. Reel Art Press, 2017...More. Item Code: FRAFH Hard Cover, 9x11, 208pg, Partial Color $39.95 PS Artbooks has collected Dick Briefer's entire comic book series that ran from 1945 to 1954, complete now in Volumes 3-8. The first two were skipped so far, because of the difficulty in finding his first appearances in Prize Comics. But stay tuned! The available collections cover both the early humorous appearances and the horror run, which began with issue #18. All are deeply discounted while our supply lasts, many in the deluxe slipcased format, for as little as $21.95. We also have renditions of Frankenstein by Guido Crepax, Mike Mignola, Gris Grimley, Frankenstein Alive by Wrightson, and the original Classics Illustrated. And currently we have two copies of Berni Wrightson's very first illustrated Frankenstein in Rare and Out of Print books.

My friend and I were thinking of buying this book too and I heard it to be quite good and very well received and he already gotten it already and should be mailed at his home and he'll read it first and then I'll get a chance too. He's getting it at 20% off through a special sale and looking forward seeing it. It should be here in a week or two. IT'S ALIVE! A VISUAL HISTORY OF FRANKENSTEIN

(Maximum of 44 eligible covers remaining) This is the first thing that popped into my head. It's a great story! Totally insane! One of the famous (or infamous) time travel stories where Dr. Nichols would send Batman and Robin (and sometimes Superman) back in time through hypnosis!

I have vivid memories of reading that ToD issue on a hot summer day back when it came out. Classic stand-alone story in the middle of one of Wolfman's long epics, if I remember.

Don't know why the mods put my cover behind spoiler tags... there's nothing wrong with it. No nudity or anything explicit shown there.

Part of the guidelines includes the term "family-friendly".
Another cover in this contest fell into that same category.
It's fine to post but with spoilers usually; some of our members are at work too, the poster needs to warn the board that the upcoming image may not be "family-friendly" and give them the option of looking or not looking at the image, but it's an option and they're not blindsided with it.

Don't know why the mods put my cover behind spoiler tags... there's nothing wrong with it. No nudity or anything explicit shown there. You know exactly why your cover was placed behind spoiler tags because we messaged you explaining the reason: it featured suggestive, NSFW content. Stop being wilfully economical with the truth and playing "hard done by". As I told you in my last message, if you have a complaint about the moderators' decision on this matter, please feel free to contact the site admin, shaxper , with your concerns.
