Thanks so much for giving me the win this week, guys! Sorry for the delay in posting the new contest. And thanks to Prince Hal for relaying my message that I would be late.
Comics legend Stan Lee passed away a few days ago. So it seems like a great choice for a cover contest theme.
So was Stan Lee on a great cover? Did he write a great story that has a great cover to match? Is there a cover that shows great showmanship from "the man" himself with all the slogans and circus-barker pizzazz we grew to love?
Well, post it, True Believer!
Nuff said!
We as a group have chosen to abide by certain rules -
- Post one classic cover that fits the theme of the contest.
- Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before November 2008.
- Covers must be posted before voting begins.
- Voting takes place on Tuesday, November 20th 2018, beginning at 12:01am PST and ending at 11:59 am PST.
- Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most.
- Put your choice's name in bold.
- The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends.
- The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest.
- If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; please don't post disparaging remarks about it.
- If a cover is more recent than the classic time frame, kindly point it out so that the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins.
Here's my choice:

Should I note that that is Funky Flashman on the cover of The Adventures of Superman #613? It was the only Funky Flashman cover I could find. Which is such a shame!

"Say, who was that masked man anyway?" "You mean you don't know?" "No idea." "That was Stan Lee." "Hi ho Excelsior! And 'nuff saaaaiiiid!"

I don't participate in the cover contest very often, but when I can break out the Ravage, you know it's happening... this one seemed the most 'silver age Stan' of the covers while he was scripting.
