It was in Super Friends that they said he had to return in water every hour or so before dying? No, that was first established in Adventure Comics #266 (November 1959).

Strange that Aquaman got completely rebooted almost 20 years into his career. New weakness, new origin, Aqualad showed up for the first time in (I think) 1961. |
