I've been looking for a copy of Time2 for a few years now, but have yet to come across anything at what I consider a reasonable price (i.e. cheap).

I actually did chance upon (relatively) cheap copies of volumes of Time2 - about 7 or 8 years ago, within about 2-3 months of each other. Altogether, with postage, I think I paid about $15 for them. However, I think I just lucked out, because as berkley notes, even back then most copies available were being offered for pretty hefty prices. I just lucked out, I think: I found both copies on eBay, from sellers probably unaware that they were sought-after items, who offered the "buy now" option instead of standard bidding, and I just happened to see them not long after they were posted.

I have actually never seen them, even on the rack when I was looking for them when they first were published.

I picked up the first one when it came out but don't think I've read it since. I think I was a little burned out on Chaykin at the time.

I have both but can't remember a thing about them.
Of course now I want to read them; can't wait to get this collection organized.

Is anybody reading his current book "Hey Kids, Comics!". It is a sober and sometimes brutal look at the comic business through the years.

Saw Time2 on the rack, in the day; but, didn't pick it up until a little bit later. Visually, it's what you expect of Chaykin, of the era. Narratively, it's a little muddled. Chaykin's idea of a mystery was a little obtuse, at times and you often had to re-read his stories a time or 2 to figure out some things. Nothing wrong with that; but, it did leave you feeling a bit disappointed, until you tried it again. It was definitely not a commercial book, as we are pretty square into the era of the superhero as everything in the market. A crime/suspense/sort-of sci-fi story was pretty radical.

Just read the first issue and LOVE it.
I doubt any casual fan would like it; it's geared more for those us of who know the back story of comics history and the creators and shaft of the publishing / work-for-hire these people endured.
Stan, Jack, Mort, DC, Marvel .... going to get caught up on the other issues as well.
