Today was a day of change at a few publishers.
Joe Illidge, just hired in April is now out as executive editor at Valiant, and the company has no plans to hire another executive editor to oversee the comics line. One has to wonder how much interest the new owners have in publishing comics now that some of the movies in development, especially since you won't pend the money to have someone oversee the books.
Chris Ryall, who left IDW earlier this year and joined Skybound, is now back at IDW as the new CCO, and his replacement, facing potential harassment lawsuits, is out.
Not today, but LionForge has been tightening its belt eliminating a number of editorial and executive positions, and those folks have been flocking to other publishers in recent weeks.
A lot of turmoil in some of the smaller established publishers, and with a number of newer publishers making a splash, I wonder how the pecking order will shake out after Marvel, DC and Image in terms of presence in the market and ability to draw talent.
