Here's a choice many comic readers would have faced in 1963, as these books came out the same month. Avengers #1? or X-Men #1?

Would you rather... Star Wars #8, the first appearance of Jaxxon, the green space-bunny... Or New Teen Titans #16, first appearance of Captain Carrot... I've got both of these somewhere.

Let's make one where value won't come into play... NFL Superpro Special #1... or Naive Inter-Dimensional Commando Koalas #1 -M Koalas. I have NFL SuperPro in my collection....

Agreed! I have an Avengers #1, and do not have X-Men #1, and have no regrets about this life choice. Avengers is awesome. X-Men is boring for the first decade of its existence.

Batman #181 (1st Poison Ivy) or Lois Lane #70 (1st Silver Age Catwoman) Wow, these were the first two DCs I ever owned! Needless to say I was a Batman TV show fanatic.

Farrar, is it true there is a Superman/Penguin scrap in that issue? And how long does it last (a nanosecond, I presume)?

No problem , @taxidriver1980 What's in LL #70 is actually the first part of a two-part story; Penguin does not appear in #71. The second part of the story is about Lois trying to get Superman back into his normal form because --as you can see on #70's cover--he was changed into a super-cat (I am trying very hard to type this with a straight face). Anyway back in the day I had #70, but what with the spotty distribution in my neighborhood, I never got a copy of #71. I was away from comics for many years and only got around to reading the concluding part of this epic tale a year ago!

I find both characters silly but based on artwork on the covers, the Plastic Man wins all day for me!
I’ll post one soon...
