There’s so much stuff to watch that it took me a while to finish season 2 of The Punisher. I just splurged through the last four episodes.
It’s really a pity the Disney-Netflix squabble probably means we won’t see Jon Bernthal in that role anymore; he really, really owned it. Here’s hoping someone realizes that there’s an audience out there ready for more.
The ending was very satisfying; after perhaps too many episodes of Frank and assorted bad guys beating the cr%p out of each other (to a point where it was unbelievable anyone could still stand without help, much less trade punches), we got (a) a surprising resolution to an ongoing plot, (b) someone making the right and sensible choice for once, (c) someone turning out not to be who we thought they were, and (d) a touching scene, plus (e) an open ending. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Pretty good music, too.
