Thought I would ask here and see if anyone could assist. I am looking for the first Archie comic that was given to me sometime in the late 70s. I can't remember what title it was but I can clearly remember one of the stories featured Dilton. It was about him encountering the gang and each of them didn't seem to notice he was around. I remember he encountered Betty and Veronica, Jughead, Archie, Reggie, and I think Ethel. By the end of the story he throws a tantrum about not being acknowledged by the group and storms off. The others react with something like "Oh, where did Dilton go? Wasn't he just here?"
I remember the story was also reprinted in an 80s digest that I had (it is now long gone). If anyone has any idea what issue featured this story, I would appreciate it! Appreciate any leads at all! Thanks!

A quick GCD search turned up a story titled "Taking Notice" in Archie's Pals 'n' Gals #123, June 1978. The synopsis says "Dilton tries to get noticed." See if this cover looks familiar:

See if this cover looks familiar: Reminds me of junior high, when we had to dance, in PE. It included the Hustle. Man did I hate those couple of weeks (we also had to square dance, which was a little easier to goof around with).

Never had dance classes in PE, but when I went to college you could take square dancing as a physical activity. I didn't take it, but I imagine I would be moving like Archie, ha! I think I took aerobic walking and bowling!

Rob Allen, thank you so much! The issue arrived today (kudos to the shipper! Ordered on the 22nd and arrived today!) and this is indeed the very first Archie comic I ever read and what a treat to re-read this issue! The story with Dilton failing to be noticed by the gang is hilarious and I am very happy to have this piece of my childhood back! Thanks again for being so helpful!
