or Clowes doing an album cover for the Supersuckers... -M I bought that Supersuckers cd back in the day strictly because of Clowes's cover, never having heard or even heard of the band. Lucky for me, it actually turned out to be pretty good. They're supposed to be playing here next month and doing the whole of The Smoke of Hell, plus some tracks from their country album, Must've Been High, which is even better. Hopefully I'll get to see the show.

Jack Davis did a million things that would fit into this category, including this Time cover and a record album. And so did Mort Drucker... Again, I'm thinking of things that aren't related to comics or necessarily by "comic artists," but using comic book tropes for unrelated content.
I saw these at the library, had a good time seeking all of them out and putting them in order.
