I've always been amused by classic super-villain dialog, particularly when they get a really good insult off. I was reading Tales to Astonish #38 the other day and in his first appearance, Egghead responds with this after being accused of selling atomic secrets to the highest bidder and being asked what he had to say for himself:
"Nothing! To a genius like me your insipid patriotic ramblings are laughable! I sneer at you all!"
Why can't people talk like this in real life? I know Doctor Doom is the master of these, but I was wondering about other classics I haven't had the pleasure of reading yet.

One of the best "super-villain" lines of course came from the end of Watchman. About not monologing his brilliant plan so the good guys can stop it, because he already did it 35 minutes ago.

Superman: And what's to keep me from pealing away that tin suit and...
Dr. Doom: Bah! I am standing on Latvarian soil! Here I am the law, alien ! Are you not sworn to uphold the laws of men?

my favorite insult came not from a comic but from a movie
Lex Luthor:Otis, do you know why the number 200 is so incredibly descriptive for both of us? Otis: Well, uh.... Lex Luthor: It's your weight and my IQ! Now think people think!
Superman the Movie 1979

Lex Luthor: It's your weight and my IQ! Now think people think! Superman the Movie 1979 May not have been accurate to the comics but boy was there some fun dialog there and Hackman sold it great. "It's open, come in. My attorney will be in touch with you about the damage to the door. Otis, take the gentleman's cape." Hackman was also good at flipping the switch and going cold. Superman: "Alright Luthor, wheres the gas pellet?" Lex: "Somewhere... in the back of my mind, actually. Just a little idea I was toying with." Superman: "Is that how a warped brain like your's gets kicks? By planning the deaths of innocent people?" Lex: "No, by causing the deaths of innocent people." Great stuff. Now, on the heroic end of things, I believe Thor to be the greatest trash talker of them all.

Well, for some reason I'm not able to insert images.
Didn't Doctor Doom call the Thing a "mindless atavism" once?

Didn't Doctor Doom call the Thing a "mindless atavism" once? That sent me rifling through my Oxford dictionary of course. I'll use it on my dealer.

I should run into it as I do my Marvel Silver-Age reading. I THINK he says sometime in the mid-60's. I live in the South, so I have limitless options as far as picking a target.

Goon: "The bastard musta ran for it!"
The Waterman: "The way you shoot, he could have strolled for it." -Hitman #39

I seem to remember "dolt" being thrown around a lot, especially by Stan Lee. The Red Skull was another villain who excelled at insults. "Freedom Loving Fools"

This one's actually from a hero to a villain, but I can't resist. After Hercules defeats Typhon in some 1960s AVENGERS tale, he calls the fallen god "thou brobdingnagian blot upon the face of the celestial universe!"
