Yesterday I bought the Bronze Age volume 1 trade paperback of Swamp Thing from the barnes and noble store and i was flipping through it to what the artwork was etc.
I assume that Alan Moore's Saga of Swamp Thing was pretty much the only main Swamp Thing comic book at the time during the 1980s?

Swamp Thing started in the 70s (i.e. the Brone Age) and was done by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. This is what is in the Bronze Age omnibus-along with the creative teams that took over after issue 10 of that series which ran for 24 issues which ended in 1976.
Another Swamp thing series, called Saga of the Swamp Thing launched in 1982, mostly to coincide with the release of the Swamp Thing movie. Alan Moore took over with issue 20 of that series (the Jan 1984 issue), and stayed on the book until issue 64 (Sept 1987 issue) and then other creative teams took over (Rick Veitch until issue 87, Doug Wheeler after that, etc.).
So while Alan Moore's run is the most acclaimed, and there was only one Swamp Thing series in the 80s, Alan Moore was not the only Swamp Thing run in the 80s or in the Bronze Age. If you want to read the Moore stuff, it is collected in 6 trades or in other formats. The Bronze Age Swamp Thing collections however, collect the 70s series, not the 80s.

Obliviously you have not been reading rberman reviews here: link on the CCF. Delivers all the soggy and moss covered information you need to know of the 80's Swamp Thing series from it's new start to the end of Moore's run from which that it is still only the tip of the lily pad. From there on other teams continue the bayou legend of our favorite swamp monster as yet to be reviewed... Also: rather than starting a brand new thread when you have any questions, you can ask any comic book questions here: link in the Ask a quick question here-and let the CCF help you.

As Shax pointed out, writing in all caps (yelling in internet parlance) doesn't change what you had previously written. Like Kirby101 I had zero idea what you were asking in your original post, but didn't feel the need to comment on it because Kirby already had.

Well, I mean, there's Swamp Thing and the Swamp Force, Swamp Thing Two-In-One, Swamp Thing's Girl Friend Swamalettina, Hoppy the Swamp Thing Bunny...

Even just Swamp Thing becoming Saga of The Swamp Thing and also not being the original Swamp Thing title can cause confusion to the new reader first looking back at these volumes. There is some level of opaqueness to it all.

Hmm. ALthough, apparently, there was a Swamp Thing TV show that ran for years that I did not know existed.
And a cartoon spin-off. The Theme Song went "SWAMP THING!". mimicking the Trogg's WILD THING.

Don't forget Doctor Holland's articles in Better Swamps and Gardens. Must(y) reading for any good botanist worth his weight in fertilizer!

old bronze age Swamp Thing with the House of Secrets debut, Swampy is pretty much old classic "gothic" murder revenge horror from the grave which reminds me a little bit of the old EC comics stuff

All the Swampthing books, from Wein/Wrightson to Alan Moore are worth reading. Anyway.
