Thought it was a bit better than Homecoming. MJ was a big improvement over the first movie. Mysterio was good, but I hated the 'villain roll-call scene.' I don't know, that whole scene just seemed really forced to me. Holland's as good as he's ever been.

I'm passing up seeing this movie on the account of the material presented here.

I'll be there on Saturday with my wife and daughters. Would have gone Friday during the day, but the younger one is at summer camp this week and I won't be picking her up until 5:00 on Friday afternoon.
It doesn't matter to me if it's a great movie. They are super excited to see it, and their enjoyment is truly more important than my own at this point.

I saw it today, and it was really, really good. Tom Holland really fits the role. He's definitely better than Garfield, and probably Maguire as well. Zendaya has a significantly bigger role than the first movie and does a great job. Folks can debate whether transforming a character from the comics to a really different person, but to me, it works. The MCU is a separate thing, and it doesn't have to adhere exactly.
Far From Home has a couple of my favorite scenes from any MCU film. Because most people have seen the film, I'd rather not describe them even generally at this point.
As the commercials have shown, the connection to Iron Man is a big part of the film, for both good and ill. There's a part of me that wishes they didn't start out that way, because I love Spider-Man as a street level character. But that's the way they've chosen to go, and they still manage to infuse it with very Spidey elements.
As noted upthread, there are two credits scenes. I have no idea why people go to scene a 2 hour movie, but feel the need to leave before seeing the credits scenes, but I think both of these are better than average. The first one has a moment that I really wanted to see, and it was awesome. Someone in the row in front of me actually jumped out of his seat. The implications of the second scene could be read different ways. It may or may not be foreshadowing for future films.

Saw it, liked it, but like the first one, I wasn't blown away by it. Solid mid-range Marvel movie

Just got home from the movie (and returning to the internet after hiding from spoilers)... I really enjoyed it. I LOVE the MCU versions of Mary Jane and Happy Hogan. Tom Holland knocked it out of the park again.
No spoilers yet, but anyone looking for hints of the next wave of the MCU won't find them here.. just a super fun, solid movie.

I enjoyed it. My teen son liked it even better than Homecoming. I thought it was decent, but I was distracted by various plot holes. Still cool action sequences though.

SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED!
I put this Spidey franchise somewhere between the Maguire one (which had a good start, a great sequel and a poor conclusion) and the Garfield one (a poor start and an even poorer sequel). I call this movie "Spider-Man Far From Great...Just Okay"
I went in knowing Fury was a Skrull. And I found the movie very boring. I knew the whole time why his character seemed off all film. I wonder what it would be like watching without knowing. Surely it had to stick out.
I liked Mysterio, Jake was good. I liked his initial battle with Spidey a lot. I guess I did not like Parker feeling so burdened and bothered all movie. Trying to have his moment with MJ, thinking he had to be the Iron Man replacement. I struggled with this because I never saw him as this and if that is what the previous films were getting at, they did a poor job setting it up. My impression was Tony found him, and groomed him in a way to be a successful hero...not that he had to become Iron Man.
I thought the humour was terrible in this film. No quips during fighting, and Happy's attempts to be funny came off lame. Even the "I love Led Zeppelin" line came across forced and stupid. The teachers on the trip were trying too hard to have funny moments and be this film's "Goose" but failed miserably. I honestly think the poor attempt at humour hurt it. Just omit it entirely then. Have Parker and friends be the humour source, with their awkwardness and behaviour and leave it there. Goofball adults like Happy and the teachers just dont work for me, at least not in this movie.
The ending was unfortunate. Killing off a solid villain who could look so good in a future Sinister Six team up against Spidey is disappointing. Here is hoping Beck somehow staged his death and that EDITH had a brain...err... circuit fart when she said simulations were down.
Overall, an okay movie but I don't think it cracks the top 10 MCU flicks for me and I had hoped it would.
Where to next though? Well Parker's identity is out there now so here are some predictions for Spider-Man 3 - We will see a version of the Sinister Six. Tinkerer or someone else will break out Vulture, Scorpion and some other thugs Spidey put away and give them suits. Dmitri from Mysterio's entourage will likely return and play someone (people say Kraven but Dmitri is actually the name of the Chameleon...who is Kraven's half brother so perhaps both come into the mix in some way). That gives us 5, so we need a sixth member. Doc Ock could be hard to work in, maybe Mysterio is still alive or they turn some thug into Hobgoblin thanks to Tinkerer. - May will die. I repeat, Aunt May will die. Maybe not right away but I think this will happen as a result of people knowing Parker's identity. That or Marvel plays it safe and just sees MJ kidnapped and Parker going berserk trying to save her. Maybe there is even an homage moment where he saves her midfall but she lives. She has a sore neck though as a result. - more backstory on how Parker became Spider-Man. This will come into play, as Oscorp has to be introduced at some point in a more meaningful way. My guess is we get some insight to the moment he was bitten and even get Norman Osborn at some point.

I think it sets up a ton of speculation on the next Spider-Man movie And the final credit scene shows that the Skrulls are not out of the picture. Definitely something cosmic is going to happen..will it be Kree/Skrull War? Will they do some adaptation of Secret Invasion? I guess no outright spoilers but plenty for fans to chat about.

I finally got to see this courtesy of my local library. I think I liked this a bit better than the first film. It did not have the split personality the first did, and even though there was a lot of talk about Iron Man, at least he wasn't actually there. The updating of Mysterio's "powers" to be performed by projector/weapon drones was pretty neat. I was wondering how they would explain everything in the trailers as illusion but I guess that is why I am not a screenwriter. No doubt there is someone out there lamenting the lack of "old school, practical effects" though...
The hallucinatory sequence where Spidey is fighting Mysterio directly was the best part, of course. That's what I want to see when I see Mysterio. Probably intentional, but I was reminded of that cover during the Romita run with Mysterio's giant hands and Spidey in an amusement park. (I've never actually read the issue.)
