I re-watched this show on my Cable Box that keep re-runs of this show and re-reading this thread one more time and I say this show is much, much, more superior than Gotham and kept it's own against Arrow and the Flash. I would put this show on equal footing with the Flash and tad below Arrow. This show is an excellent show all around and I will give this show a fair chance and I hope it will last this season and carry on for a 2nd season after this one.

Episode 2 "The Darkness Beneath" was alright. Pretty standard monster of the week stuff. I like Zed better than Liv. One of her drawings reminded me of Etrigan the Demon but I'm not sure if it was an intentional Easter Egg. Looking forward to Papa Midnight next week.

I was just about to turn in for the night when I glanced over at my bookshelf and saw constantine in both his classic vertigo Figure as well as his New52 JL Dark figure. standing next to them on the shelf are the first and latest figures of Zatanna from DC direct/Collectibles and it got me to thinking.
We've already seen Fate's Helmet and it's been announced that Jim Corrigan aka The Spectre would be appearing on the series. but what about Zatanna?
Has she been announced?
If so, who's playing her?
If not? who would you cast?
In my latest Gets post when I picked up the New52 version I made the comment that the figure had a resemblance to Zoey Deschanel.
I'm not sure they could get her but i think she'd do well in the role.
any other choices?

Episode 3 "The Devil's Vinyl" Nice to see Joelle Carter show up. Mucous Membrane! I like Michael James Shaw as Papa Midnite.

Episode 4 "A Feast of Friends" as an adaptation of Hellblazer #1-2 it was kind of underwhelming but in it's own right it was okay.

Episode 5 "Danse Vaudou" I thought this was one of the better episodes so far. Nice to see Jim Corrigan show up. Starting to really like Angelica Celaya as Zed. I liked seeing Papa Midnite and John work together. The gore under the one ghost's mask looked pretty good and I laughed when Chas started asking her questions. Loved that Zed saw Corrigan as The Spectre at the end.

I really hope this show starts catching on. It is really a great show and you don't have to know anything about him. I read a couple of different articles about good shows that you are not watching and this was on it. I was like...how can people not watch this and get hooked?! Last week's episode was so-so, but I really enjoyed it this week. I do hope folks give it a chance and it doesn't go the way of Dracula.

Constantine did not get a full season order, and only 13 episodes will be made for now. If the last 8 (now 7) episodes do well, it is still a candidate for a second season, but it will not get a full 22 episode first season. The ratings are growing slowly, but weren't good enough to commit to more after episode 4, which is when NBC had to make their decision about giving it a full season or only doing the initial 13 episode commitment. I read that this morning, but the good news is, at least it still has a shot. I am glad it was not a no go and this is it. Hopefully folks can get the word out. It is very well done, and they cast the right person for Constantine. Am still hopeful we will get to see the Spectre, if they get a season 2.

I watched the first 4-6 shows on my On Demand Cable Box and because of my commitment to my girlfriend and all - I don't watch this show on Friday Night at all. I rather have Arrow, Flash, and sometimes Gotham than this show. I just having issues with this show and frankly if the next 2-3 shows aren't any good - I guess that I'm going to say goodbye to it.

Episode 6 "Rage of Caliban" Kind of a slow episode but the ending was fantastic. The haunted house that John had to walk through at the end was great. The zombie mask that the kid wore was really creepy. Interesting resolution at the end.

Episode 7 "Blessed are the Damned" The setting of the creepy snake-handling was great. I liked seeing another angel show up. I wasn't expecting Imogen to be one of the fallen. Her wings turning all black once the feather was returned to her was a cool visual though. Nice to see Manny actually do something too. |

Episode 8 "The Saint of Last Resorts" Enjoyed Zed exploring the house. They nailed the atmosphere of the creepy convent. Nice to see Jose Pablo Cantillo who played Martinez in The Walking Dead show up as Hugo. I like how Annie called John on his ruse even name dropping Gary Lester. I thought the Invuche at the end looked pretty good. Great cliffhangers. |
