Maybe Cameron and Hamilton are back, but this franchise seems to me to have run its course...
Hopefully the film can bring something more to the story, but maybe it's better to just expect a high octane chase and enjoy that for what it is.

Maybe Cameron and Hamilton are back, but this franchise seems to me to have run its course... For me, it ran its course at the closing credits of Judgment Day. I've never watched, nor ever had any desire to watch, any of the movies (or TV series) that came afterward. I love Linda Hamilton, though, and it was cool seeing her in that trailer.

Everything old is old again. No kidding. Dragging Hamilton back for another pointless Terminator film no one is asking for. Dragging Patrick Stewart back for a Captain Picard series no one is asking for (well, I would argue the majority of Star Trek fans are not necessarily Next Generation fans). Tired franchises running on fumes.

You didn't miss much, as you doubtless already know. The third Terminator film was a run-by-the-numbers thing, only with Arnold as a good guy. Although I liked its twist ending, it was an unnecessary story. The fourth film I barely remember. It's like Planet of the Apes #4 or something. The fifth was a reboot/restart/altered timeline/quasi self-parody kind of thing, where the only redeeming value I can recall was having today's Arnold face a 1985 CGI Arnold. But I guess it's as with rehashed comics... "if people keep payin', we'll keep making 'em".

Alas, I was younger and less cynical of Hollywood at the time. On the plus side, I did avoid Genisys.

Not interested at all. It's ran out of steam.

Guess story is a lot harder when you don't have Harlan Ellison to crib from.

I must admit I am interested, especially in light of the news that the film is a direct sequel to T2 and ignoring everything else.
