I noticed this week got skipped. It was a pretty good week so I thought I would do a few quick reviews from that week.

Hawkman #12. Written by Robert Venditti. Art by Bryan Hitch. The end of Venditti and Hitch's first year on this great series. It is also the last issue with Hitch on art and he goes out with a bang. His art is stunning. Basically the final battle between Carter and his past lives vs. the Deathbringers. It is epic. Filled with big scenes. Just a fantastic year on Hawkman. Best this week. 9/10.

Invaders #5. Written by Chip Zdarsky. Art by Carlos Magno and Butch Guice. World War Namor continues. Zdarsky has written a great story that "feels" like the stakes are real. Man so much happens in this issue between Cap, Namor, Torch and Bucky. I'm not sure how it will all wrap up next issue. 8/10.

Shazam! #5. Written by Geoff Johns. Art by Dale Eaglesham and Marco Santucci. Pedro and Eugene are in the Gamelands. This story arc has a old school feel. It feels unique enough that only these characters would "fit" in this story. So that's good. The bad? Other plots that were started back in #1 have been put aside since then. The art is detailed and fun. Improving. 7/10.

Archie #704. Written by Nick Spencer. Art by Sandy Jarrell. Betty and Veronica "team up" with Cheryl to find out who Archie is dating (Sabrina). Jughead helps Reggie with the mystery surrounding Reggie's dad. Another great issue. I still can't believe the Archie title has been so good since the relaunch in 2015! 8/10.
