The Captain, that was almost my entry. It is fantastic work by the Severins.

In a conflict between one of my favorite comics and one of my favorite covers (which happens to be by my favorite comics artist), I'm going for the latter: brianf

I remember being haunted by this cover as a kid. IIRC, this issue marked the peak of MAD's circulation--3 million issues

It was a tough choice but I will go with DubipR.

Honorable mentions to just about every other cover. Folks definitely brought their A games this week.

After long deliberation, I'm going with foxley. (mrp in a photo-finish.) Great topic, above-average level of difficulty in choosing. Had to keep narrowing the criteria in order to eliminate so mnay excellent covers. PS: Did someone change his or her entry and remove Aquaman 9? If you did, I have to tell you, you were the leader at the turn. I have loved that cover since the day my mother bought it for me from the newsstand.

It was me that changed from the Aquaman #9, I had to go for the Exciting cover when a similar one stepped down. It's not whether you win or lose but... well, I really dig those colors and big logos on the '40s covers! '60s Aquaman had a lot of great cover though it's true.
