Both Clay Mann and Tom King posted this tease on their social media accounts today. It looks like Phantasm has appeared in comics before, but never in the main DC continuity... CBR article here-M

Very cool.
I was already pretty excited about the series (even with the story being condensed a little) but this is cooler than I probably could have imagined.

Even the Phantasm can't get me to read King's Batman. Blech.

Even the Phantasm can't get me to read King's Batman. Blech. I read a couple of trades of his Batman stuff and thought it was okay. Not good enough to go out of my way to buy more. At least part of that is that I'm just completely burnt out on Batman. But at least readable, unlike the execrable Scott Snyder. I've tried multiple times to read The Vision and Miracle Man and neither one of them work for me at all.

The first trade was decent enough, but my main issue going on from that was that he never really stopped to develop his ideas or give them proper endings before moving on to the next idea which kills me. Bendis has the same issue with his Superman run so far.

Is it really necessary to merge all those media universes?!
