Marshal Rogers changed the look of the Silver Surfer. He went from looking like he was covered in silver paint (Kirby and Buscema) to having a highly reflective chrome look.

Huh, I wouldn't have expected Claremont's Goblin Queen to have an influence that went back so far. She was plenty racy for the 1980s. I can only imagine the scandal in 1941. What character is that?

Marvel Super-Hero posters (set of 8) with redrawn art from some very familiar, definitive covers and licensing art. They were originally offered through the publisher's fan club, the Merry Marvel Marching Society in 1966. Some would later be sold through Personality Posters.

The Dragon Lady was the definitive femme fatale for adventure stories, particularly ones in love with the hero, though she borrowed from Fah Lo Suee, daughter of Fu Manchu, who was in love with Nayland Smith. The Dragon Lady interpretation was seen by an an entire generation and was a massive influence on comics: Catwoman, Iron Maiden, Miss Fear, Talia, Elektra, P'Gelle, Black Widow (earlier on). In later years, Mike Grell wrote a Blackhawk story (post Chaykin mini-series) which was a rif on Steve Canyon and Terry & the Pirates. A character is introduced that was alluded to be the daughter of Pat Ryan (hero of TATP) and the Dragon Lady.

Ran across this recently and it made me think of this topic... Great choice. Another instant Adams standard (with Anderson inks) that's been reprinted more times than one can count.

It looks like it's even been part of a Canadian coin?
