Svengoolie is MUST SEE TV (on MeTV) every Saturday night for everyone. Even though I have recorded so many of his episodes/movie showings over the years I will still watch repeats when they air. Some nice good old fashioned silly humor with vintage/classic horror/science fiction is a perfect way to spending an evening. Reminds me of my youth when as a child on Saturday's the local FOX theater sponsored our local children's show Wallace and Ladmo (and their bratty nemesis Gerald the rich spoiled boy) doing matinee's and you would see a cartoon, a 1940/50's western and a Universal monster movie all for 75 cents! So a night with a bowl of popcorn and a soda watching Sven and his gags is sheer joy.

For me, with certain types of movies that Svengoolie has been showing, reminds me of Commander USA from USA Network back in the mid 1980s

George Perez appeared about 5-7 minutes on Svengoolie and he was a huge Svengoolie fan himself and one of his achievement is working on JLA/Avengers Book, Wonder Woman, and so on. He and Sven had a blast and the movie was okay and it was really an odd movie to watch and I had a hard time enjoying it.  He totally enjoyed meeting fans at comic cons, talked about his working with Kurt Busiek and that's one thing that he cherish the most and talking about that Project with Kurt. I missed some parts of it and was rudely interrupted by my neighbor that returning two folding chairs and I was disappointed missing some of the Perez segment. He was looking real good on Svengoolie ... and I was happy to see him for that limited time. |
