Hey shaxper, this morning the forum is basically unusable when viewed on my iPhone. Every time I click on a topic or change page or change sub-forum my browser gets aggressively hijacked and I get a pop-up that locks the screen or get taken to a new page entirely telling me that I've won a phone or something and I have less than 2 minutes to claim my prize (with a handy countdown clock). The websites I'm being redirected to are called things like iPhones4u or samsung-giveaway.co.uk or something. It was perfectly fine last night before I went to sleep, but this morning the forum is completely unusable for me on my phone. It seems fine on my laptop PC though.

Proboards got wind of it a little less than an hour ago and is working on it. Let me know if it continues.

And now it's doing it again this morning. Hope Proboards get this sorted soon.

Here's the latest update from proboards: Essentially, they are trying a new ad host arrangement, and some bad stuff snuck in that they are working to remove. If it's still happening next time you log in, screenshot it and log a new complaint here so that they know asap. Thanks, Confessor. I apologize for all of this!

Yes , from time to time. It happens when I'm on my laptop at home.

Yes , from time to time. It happens when I'm on my laptop at home. If it's only occurring on one device, and no one else is experiencing the problem, the most likely possibility is that there is malware or at least cookies on your laptop causing this. I'd suggest clearing your cookies, running a free malware program (I'm a big fan of Malwarebytes), and then see if the problem persists.

I wiped my computer and so far the ad asking for me to get a new media player has not appeared. I guess even an apple computer can get malware.
