Green Arrow has been upgraded to an ongoing. First it was a six issue mini series than a 12 issue series. Green Arrow has always been one of my favorite books, so this make me very happy

Opinions about the "new" Moon Knight in Jan? Marvel has said Marc Spector will die in Dec. If it's Hunter's Moon for a bit as a replacement I'd be down. Seems more like it's going to be an ensemble sort of thing. I'm imagine 6 issues (maybe 12) before Marc is back.

Several comic creators have been bringing attention to the plight of Paul Jenkins, a writer I know many here like. He's been the target of a series of nuisance lawsuits by a serial grifter and known malcontent that have eaten away his resources as his wife recovers from a serious illness and made life near impossible for them. I hadn't seen it mentioned here yet, so providing the link if anyone is interested and capable of helping out. Paul Jenkins Go FundMe-M

I was initially upset by the new #1 as it was being called a reboot and I love the IDW continuity but Aaron said he's building on the stories that came before him and IDW has called it refresh not a reboot so my hopes are high.

And now we get more details on the new TMNT #1, including how Aaron will team with four different artists on the first four issues of the new ongoing to highlight each of the Turtles.

And the artists attached are amazing: Joëlle Jones on #1 featuring Raphael, Rafael Albuquerque on #2 with Michelangelo,Cliff Chiang on Leonardo, and finally Chris Burnham on Donatello. I've instantly gone from troubled to overjoyed on this.

A new Kickstarter has just been launched for Karl Kesel & David Hahn's Impossible Jones, which I've mentioned previously in this thread and elsewhere on the forum. This time it's a collected edition of every Impossible Team-up story which have been released over the past year and a half (plus 15 new pages of story). This might be interesting to those who haven't yet read any of this and don't mind the digital option, because the two lowest pledge levels offer either a) a pdf file of this book, so basically all of the Impossible Team-ups, or b) a pdf bundle of all previous Impossible Jones comics (at $20 that's not a bad deal at all - if, as I noted, you've never read any of this stuff before).

That definitely sounds like DC's answer to the epics.... and I agree WAY overdue. Not my ideal choice of starting material, but I might take grab one or two just to make sure they keep up the concept!

Out of those books, the Flash one appeals to me the most, primarily for the first appearances of the Rogues. The other ones mostly seem to have a lot more modern content, which I’ve either read or have little interest in, except for the Superman book, of whom I’m not much of a fan.

Comics Pro (a retailer summit) occurred this past week so there were a lot of announcements made there, many about initiatives that will use FCBD as a launch point for new series or lines. The DC Finest initiative mentioned above was announced at the meeting, but there were others that were of interest to me. Mad Cave Studios is launching their Flash Gordon and Gatchaman series on FCBD. Both are going to be initiatives featuring multiple books and collections. Here's the release on Gatchaman(There's more news but I will break it up into a couple of posts to avoid one huge post with lots of images. -M

Mad Cave is also doing Flash Gordon... They'll also be collecting the Star Comics/Marvel Defenders Earth series in a trade... Their plans seem pretty ambitious... I really like the Flash Gordon Adventures book. It was the Tempo Flash Gordon books I got at a Scholastic Book Fair that really turned me on to the character when I was in 4th and 5th grade, so hopefully this will catch the attention of a new generation of readers. and still there's more... -M

Marvel is going to be publishing Disney character comics. Starting with a new Uncle Scrooge one-shot written by of all people Jason Aaron? and the Alex Ross variant... I'm not sure about Aaron on Scrooge, but it's only a 1 shot, so I will check it out. -M

Not part of FCBD, but Marvel is doing a new line of free comics given away at comic shops using the old Marvel Must Haves Brand. It's not a big deal to me, as I have Unlimited and could read these anyways, and I am not sure comic shops are the best place to try to draw new readers since people there are already readers and they need to put these were potential comic readers who aren't already comic shop customers are (like maybe libraries who do a lot of graphic novel/tpb circulation and movie theatres where Marvel movies are showing), but it's good to see at least a half-hearted attempt to expand readership. Good idea, meh execution in my estimation. -M
