No! We already have Disney Marvel version. The same thing, even solicitation is similar: By any religious entity! ... Conan is soft-rebooted - super-safe, censored and with political agenda. Now civilized, enlightened, socially conscious, and almost gender-neutral...
Seriously this is great news. Looking forward (will be buying all of it).
Ablaze, they should do Bouncer. It's a damn good western. (And the western like you haven's seen before, they already named a genre after it - Jungian Western lol).
While I'm excited to get these new books as I've loved the reviews of them by Roquefort Raider the Marvel books don't fit the description you gave at all. I'll be the first to say I'm not super impressed by the new Marvel stories but censored, civilized and gender neutral? Definitely not.
That's (supposed to be) humor, it's slightly exaggerated so you get the idea where they are going with it, rest assured.
It's actually worse than gender-neutral (verbally of course, not physically), it's almost person-neutral - these few side characters that do exist, they all talk with the same voice. Is any one of them memorable to you? Hey look, if you like it - good for you. I expected more from Marvel in year 2019. Hyborian world provides such a great backdrop for complex arcs and nuanced characters.

New Publisher Ablaze bringing Glenat Conan comics to US in English translation, the catch, they will not be called Conan, but the Cimmerian. Story hereThey will be available in October. here's the solicit: CIMMERIAN QUEEN OF BLACK COAST #1 (W) Jean-David Morvan (A) Pierre Alary AUG191435 – (CA) Jason Metcalf AUG191436 – (CA) Mirka Andolfo AUG191437 – (CA) Ed Benes AUG191438 – (CA) Pierre Alary By Crom! For the first time, Robert E. Howard’s Conan is brought to life uncensored! Discover the true Conan, unrestrained, violent, and sexual. Read the story as he intended! Pursued for killing a judge, Conan finds refuge on a merchant ship. But soon after setting sail, the Cimmerian and his new companions face a threat: the legendary Bêlit, self-proclaimed Queen of the Black Coast! Bonus Material: The original Robert E. Howard short story is included! In Shops: Oct 09, 2019 SRP: $3.99 -M I hope this really happens! Not just because I've wanted this since you mentioned it, but a publisher importing other good European stuff is always welcome. Those books range from all right (Beyond the Black River) to absolutely brilliant (The Frost Giant’s daughter), but as usual the blurb is misleading. These stories are sometimes very different from Howard’s original versions. They’re far more modern as far as racism and sexism are handled, and apart from having a few more graphic sex scenes than what we saw at Marvel and Dark Horse, they’re not particularly more unrestrained. They’re just good books with an alternate take on Conan.

Rob Liefeld doesn't own Youngblood anymore. it seems while he was part of Awesome publishing, he split his creations between Scott Rosenberg( of Malibu Comics) because he needed financing. It seems that Rosenberg sold it off to someone called Andrew Rev. Of course he is trying to sell it to make movies, Tv shows and the like, and he doesn't have respect for Liefeld. He asked him to " audition" to work on the comics version. Rob chronicled this on his Facebook page.

Bryan Talbot to return to Luther Arkwright for a third installment starting in 2022. He has completed the script and is beginning the art. It will be called the LEgend of Luther Arkwright, and will be published in the US by Dark Horse. -M Definitely interested. Anyone seen the Arkwright Integral book that collects the first two stories? My copy of the first one fell apart at the binding when I read it and I ended up buying all the back issues so I could read it that way next time. I might spring for that Integral edition though, if it looks good.

I can take or leave Conan, but I quite like Solomon Kane as a character - there was a Marvel Premiere issue (or maybe 2), by Howie Chaykin and Klaus Janson that was/were really nice, and the historical setting was moderately novel as well

I like all the REH characters but none of the comics versions of the last several years has ever caught my eye, whether at Dark Horse or Marvel or wherever - even the Glénat ones, which I had slightly higher hopes for. Not that I knnow any of them to have been particularly bad, either - I haven't gotten past the artwork to try reading any of them, apart from the first few issues of the Busiek/Nord Conan.
(edit): just to clarify, not that the artwork looks bad in those Glénat or Dark Horse comics (haven't seen much of the Marvels yet) , just that it doesn't grab me.
(in contrast to, for example, the IDW ERB comics, where I really do find it a turn-off)

I see Archie will feature Katy Keene in the title starting in Jan to "tie in" to the upcoming TV show.

For all the continuity buffs, timeline fans and shared universe aficionados here, it looks like DC is working on a new somewhat all inclusive time-line for the DCU where almost everything ever published happened, that has Wonder Woman as the first super-hero to debut in the WWII era, contains 4 distinct generations or era, and will emerge out of stuff like Doomsday Clock and Snyder's latest Justice League saga as a new semi-definitive timeline for the DCU moving forward. Blurred images of the timeline were sneak peaked at NYCC today. Some info at Bleeding Cooland here's a look at one of the blurred images previewed... -M

Lots of news pouring out of NYCC today...mostly from Marvel's Next Big Thing panel
Claremont is in talks with MArvle about a new X-Men project with Salvador Larocca.
Marvel will be relaunching Star Wars and Vader series, this time set after Empire Strikes Back not Star Wars itself (or a New Hope for those that like that title).
Donny Cates will be the new Thor writer after Jason Aaron wraps up his 7 year run.
Al Ewing will be launching a new Guardians of the Galaxy series with Juann Caball on art.
Alex Ross and Jim Kreuger will be doing an Earth X prequel called Marvels X.
Berger Books will be reprinting Peter Milligan's Enigma series.
John Layman and Nick Bradshaw will be doing a new creator-owned series called Bermuda at IDW
Si SPurrier (one of the writers on the Sandman Universe titles) will be doing a new creator-owned series at BOOM! called Alienated.
Starblazer will be reprinting some of Grant Morrison's earliest comic works.
Rachel Maddow will be joining the cast of CW's Batwoman is some sort of key role.
DC's time line work may lead to the launch of something called 5G, perhaps a relaunch/reboot (this one is rampant speculation of Bleeding Cool's part). Also rumblings that DC may publish titles set in the different eras telling new stories, but again this is rumors not hard announcements. DC hasn't had their big panel yet at NYCC, so solid detals of their plans aren't likely t surface until that panel.

Si Spurrier is leaving the Dreaming to concentrate on the new Hellblazer title, and G. Willow Wilson will be taking over as the writer of the Dreaming with Nick Robles on art.
