There are many covers that seem to carry subliminal messages that you don' t have to be Dr. Wertham to notice. Many involve Lois Lane and projectiles, others Wonder Woman and skyscrapers. Here's one I've seen before and find myself wondering about. Is this an example of "headlights" comics in outer space? And are there more covers with subliminal and not-so-subliminal messages out there than we've spotlighted before?  |

Well, your example is pretty subliminal, Hal, as it takes a few seconds to see it. Now, it's very possible that my mind's in the gutter, but this cover to DC Comics Presents, featuring Superman and Wonder Woman passionately kissing with the Washington Monument right behind them has always seemed a case of a not-very subliminal message:  |

 That machine that is "shooting rays" through Wonder Woman's shackled body sure seems to be doing a lot of vibrating.  Superman's eyeline is a bit troubling  Wonder Woman's body always seems to be possessed while in a prone position...  |
