I believe you’re right about Bret being the second wrestler to win the triple-crown. As you know, Diesel became the first guy to win all three championships in one year (1994).
Ah, yes, Tito Santana. It’s a shame he couldn’t make WM X, I think he left the WWF around late 1993, the last televised bout I recall was him against Razor Ramon. Would have been nice to see him at WM X, dark match or otherwise.
By the way, I did like the marketing post-WM X, such as the WrestleMania Revenge Tour. It sounds special, and I guess they couldn’t do it all of the time.
Incidentally, wasn’t it around WM X - or after - when he WWF began marketing the “New Generation”? Looking back, it made me laugh a tad as Bret Hart was only slightly younger than Hogan, who would soon make his WCW debut. And then at King of the Ring ‘94, they gave us a main event of Roddy Piper vs. Jerry Lawler, with Piper being 40 at the time, and Lawler being 44. So not a great difference in age between them and WCW’s Hogan. WWF logic, eh?

It was either the Raw or Superstars right after WM X where I first heard them market that.

I missed the anniversary, but yesterday marked 30 years since Diesel won his first Intercontinental Championship from Razor Ramon on an episode of WWF Superstars (the title change would air later, on April 30th, 1994):

Is it me or does this look like a wrestling championship? Well, American catch wrestling, which grew into the carnival AT shows and then professional wrestling was said to be passed down from Irish immigrant soldiers, during the Civil War, so why not. If you want ancient wrestling title belts, check out what Dan Vadis sports, in Spartacus and the Ten Gladiators..... Torin Thatcher sports quite a championship belt, in The Crimson Pirate. The Ten Gladiator movies (The Ten Gladiators, Triumph of the Ten Gladiators, Spartacus and the Ten Gladiators) films are about as pro wrestling as you can get, without a ring or Mike Mazurki, in the cast.

This was a decent video back in the day, but it did recycle a lot of content from other tapes, and was very specific to the Bret/Austin feud (familiarity breeds contempt?):

Watching the February 2nd 1998 RAW. Just got done watching the segment where The New Age Outlaws took the opportunity to topple over a dumpster containing Catcus Jack and Chainsaw Charley. While I appreciate the "realness" of the angle, they treated the aftermath of this thing like a national tragedy

Yeah, that was at a time when the WWF was still behind WCW and occasionally tried shoot angles as a way to bump ratings. They usually didn't work and just confused most fans. I remember watching this and just wondering "why the hell are the Outlaws suddenly so concerned with Jack and Chainsaw?" and not "oh, it's supposed to be real, how brilliant!". I guess I was still a mark lol. Anyway, the WWF soon caught fire and desperate shoot angle gimmicks like this largely became a thing of the past

I'm thinking AJ Styles will beat LA Knight this week to face Cody at Backlash....simply for the Face vs Heel factor. AJ might actually be leaving soon (I hope that's just a bluff or rumour as I like the Phenomenal one)...but he wants to go out with a bang.....
And everyone knows the Bloodline Civil War will put Jey and Jimmy back together again.

Damn damn damn, it seems like Rhea's injury is legit and not a storyline or ruse to get her some time-off
My only other disappointment of the night was R-Truth, his simpleton gimmick is really annoying me and I hope he loses the tag team belt to DIY.....

Aww, that’s sad, she had so much more to give during that reign.

Okay, I’ve tried to be patient, and I don’t want a monopoly in wrestling, but this guy is misguided, unprofessional, erroneous and out of touch: www.fightful.com/wrestling/tony-khan-most-real-thing-wrestling-competition-between-companies-companies-hate-each-otherA natural resource that powers the industry? This guy needs to fix the problems with AEW (the numerous problems). When Bischoff was taking shots at the WWF, he was winning - and when the WWF shot back, they at least came across as “David versus Goliath”. Tony Khan is just coming across as a silly man picking fights he probably can’t win.

On this day 30 years ago, Spring Stampede 1994 aired on PPV, taking place at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, Illinois: These were the matches: Johnny B. Badd vs. DDP WCW Television Champion Lord Steven Regal vs. Brian Pillman WCW Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys vs. Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne in a Chicago Street Fight WCW United States Champion Stunning Steve Austin vs. The Great Muta WCW International World Heavyweight Champion Rick Rude vs. Sting Dustin Rhodes vs. Bunkhouse Buck in a Bunkhouse Match The Boss vs. Vader WCW World Champion Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat This was a reasonable card. The Street Fight was a good, if short, bout. Austin vs. The Great Muta was pretty reasonable, although there was a DQ finish. Rick Rude (who was in pain) had a decent bout with Sting, and it’s sad to think how this was Rude’s final WCW PPV bout (that planned match with Vader at Slamboree 1994 was the ultimate dream match). Had Rude remained in good health, I wonder how he would have fit in with the forthcoming Hulk Hogan regime. The Rhodes/Stud Stable feud was my most underrated feud of 1994, and Rhodes and Bunkhouse Buck had a solid bout, although it was a bit too long. The Boss and Vader had some great scraps which were always heated, and this was one of those. The Steamboat/Flair match was good, but it couldn’t hold a candle to their previous bouts, and the ending (a double pin) was the way it was solely to protect the forthcoming Flair/Hogan bout. I can’t really remember much about Regal/Pillman, and Badd/DDP.

Ah, the 1993 album that Hulk Hogan claimed to be a part of, prior to hopping in a DeLorean with Doc and Marty, before heading to 1985 with Simon Cowell so that he could start the Rock ‘n’ wrestling era:
Has WWE found that lost Wembley Stadium Hogan match yet? The footage must be somewhere…
