I'd say Archangel too, but I always think of him as an actual different person after what Apocalypse did to him. So it's less a costume as it is an alternate version of Angel himself. With all that nerd stuff aside, I like the X-Factor the best of the choices. Though I voted for Archangel. What no love for AoA Warren/Angel?

Never heard of it. Looks like something out of Watchmen. More something out of the Saint, actually. Paul Gustavson, who did the Human Torch, also did the Angel. He wasn't as prominent as the Trio (Cap, Su-Mariner and Torch); but, he lasted a while. marvels Project retconned him as a doctor, treating the dying Two-Gun Kid, who leaves him his Colt Peacemakers. Gustavson had nothing to do with the Human Torch. That was Carl Burgos.
And I voted for the Champions costume. I like both the colors and the lines. I never cared for the Adams design in either the blue-and-white or red-and-white varints because of the odd way the center stripe exiends down to the inner thighs. The suspenders-and-laced boots look is an abomination.

I voted for the Champions costume, too. Aside from his "costume" in Marvel Team-Up #4, it's the only one that makes (visually obvious) practical sense: assuming the back is mostly open like the front, you can imagine how he'd put the costume on, unlike the others, which would need awkward little holes for the wings, or a complex set of buttons and/or zippers. The headband is a clever touch. Symbolically suggestive of a halo, it also makes some practical sense for a flying hero. The blue and white, I admit, is a striking color combination, though. Kind of surprising that it hasn't been use more often throughout the history of comic book superheroes!

adamwarlock2099 ... I do like that version, the top picture is truly an original and looks really good; I also like this version because it is bold, dynamic, totally unique, and somewhat thinking outside the box and a different look for Archangel here.

Not to derail the thread Mecha, but it seemed a lot of the X-Men's costumes in AoA (save maybe Magneto's that wasn't all that different) seemed to be something that was plausibly made in such a post apocalyptic setting as AoA was. Even in the two X-Men Unlimited issues (that were stories about the X-Men before Apocalypse came to power) had much more 616-ish X-Men costumes. Which I kind of liked that many of the X-Men's costumes, were a rugged as the setting they were in.

Yeah, actually I did consider not including Archangel in this poll, but then I decided what the hey.

That is kinda cool looking before. I've never seen it before. I guess it came after I stopped collecting comics, from the time period I like to pretend doesn't exist. In restrospect, maybe I should have left Archangel off of this poll.

dbutler69 ... that costume did not appear that many comic books and to most fans that I know of had "mixed feelings" about the color and design of it. I think that I only saw it once in a comic book and yet I just can't remember anything about it.

What no love for AoA Warren/Angel? The only thing I could say in favour of that monstrosity is that it makes the red-braces & leotard costume look good.

Yeah, I mixed it up. I was thinking of all those early stories being done by Funnies Inc and crossed Gustavson and Burgos.

I'll take your word for it. That particular image looks so much like The Comedian with wings to me that I can't get it out of my head. Does it help that you imagined the wings? I suspect the reference was intentional. The Comedian, like the Crimson Avenger or the Angel, was an example of the golden age, pulp derived gentleman adventurer trope. Or more of a wry commentary on such. Anyway, I don't think it's fair to blame Gustavson or the original Angel because somebody decided to rip him off 45 years later. Honestly, the Angel II works best for me when he's out of costume. The contrast between giant honking downy wings and street clothes makes for a more surprising and better visual than any of the costumes.

Or even this one:

I think I like this Angel outfit better than the other ones. Ha ha...brilliant! Love me some Angel and the Ape. This would definitely get my vote, although Angel O'Day's cute dress from issue #3 is even better... Edit: Ah, I see that EdoBosnar got there before me. That'll teach me to read to the end of the thread before I post.
