I never heard of the Doom ending before. I prefer the Nova one. I don't like time travel as a solution to a story and don't think the FF need to be dragged into it. I'm not sure what they would even do anyway.

I always liked what JB did with Galactus - and the Fantastic Four. He had a good handle on Galactus, I feel.

He did my favorite run of FF and I was always sad, and puzzled, why this never got completed.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Byrne's FF run is my second favourite after Lee/Kirby.

Epic Illustrated ran some funny letters from readers complaining about how the story was being published 6 pages at a time, thus no momentum.
