I was there to see the film when it was released, and considering that era of filmmaking, it felt like Henson was trying to "get in" on the George Lucas bandwagon (ironic, when one considers Frank Oz performed Yoda) with that type of fantasy. Granted, Lucas did not create this genre, but his films put a very different face on it, which is what I think films such as The Dark Crystal and Krull (1983) tried to capture...only they didn't. That said, I just have a curiosity about the new series, but I'm not particularly thrilled that the concept is back. Krull did not set the box office on fire, and there's plenty to critique in it, but also plenty to love. It also has early performances from Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) and Liam Neeson, among others. James Horner cannibalized portions of his score for the film Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan. It's still a favorite soundtrack of mine.

Finished the season.
Very rich and adds a ton of depth to the original film. I hope we get more.
