Hi everyone! as many of you know, many studios out there, dazzled by the billions of dollars earned by the MCU, are desperately looking for a new superhero universe which becomes the new moneymaker (for example, the new upcoming Valiant Comics Cinematic Universe). Now, if the DCE has taught us anything, the original IP is not a guarantee of success, because first and foremost one needs, you know, to make good movies. But I think it would be fun to know everyone's opinion about which SuperHero Universe we'd like to see on the Big Screen. Now, I chose the ones I consider the best known, but if anyone has others to suggest, please be my guest! I leave here some link to description of the various superhero universes... (I left the Ultraverse out because technically is part of the Marvel Universe...) Dark Horse SuperHero UniverseAstro CityProject SuperpowersInvincible Comics UniverseImage Universe (this one is a little tricky, because it's never very clear which characters are in this universe...) Archie's Dark Circle (but there are rumors that they are working on it) KirbyverseTerra ObscuraHeroic Publishing Superhero Universe

One challenge of Astro City is its anthological nature. It doesn’t follow a central character arc. Would be good, though.

Astro City has more possibilities as a series. The anthology nature could be a plus, as it would lend itself to something like the Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents, where you can have different stories, mixing the characters from the comics. you can establish a core group who will weave through things, such as the journalist who had hi story of the Old Soldier yanked, or some other POV character. You could even do story arcs with the longer stories, such as the Confessor storyline, the Dark Ages, Steeljack, etc.
Now, me, I'd rather be show runner for Starman. It was optioned back in the late 90s as a potential tv series. Just imagine Jack Knight on tv, with an HBO budget? Could be really, really good.

The most obvious one to me would be Alan Moore's Top Ten, since it was deliberately designed as a superhero serial written as an American cop show of the Hill Street Blues variety.
Not that I think it would work, myself, since what works on the page doesn't usually translate to the screen for me, when it comes to superheroes, much as I enjoy the Marvel shows and movies as light entertainment.
