Ive noticed theres a pack of comics where its 10 for 10 dollars
Just curious as to if anyone bought it and if so what comics are in it? I know the first one at the front in the bagged pack is Ms Marvel

Just wondering if anyone ever buys those bagged packs of comics from that one junkpile near the checkouts at Walmart? Ive noticed theres a pack of comics where its 10 for 10 dollars Just curious as to if anyone bought it and if so what comics are in it? I know the first one at the front in the bagged pack is Ms Marvel I see a lot of them get picked up, usually by folks picking up the 100 page DC Giants that are displayed right next to them. The Marvel packs have 10 random recent (last 2-3 years) Marvel issues and the DC packs have 1 of the DC Giants and other random DC books form the same period. They are reminiscent of the way I used to get a lot of my comics as a kid in the polybagged 3-packs where you could see 2 of the books but the third was always a mystery (unless you found a way to cheat, which happened a lot). These are geared more towards casual readers who might want to sample a bunch of comics or give a bunch of comics to a younger reader than for a hardcore comic reader. You won't get full arcs, so it will be choppy reading at best, but it is a way to sample a bunch of stuff that you may have missed. I personally have no interest in them, as I buy very little Marvel and DC via individual issues and have both Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe, so can sample things there as part of my subscription, but then I am not the intended audience for this kind of product. They have similar packs of comics like that at Five Below for $5, but I am not sure how many are in the bag, and Ollie's has 10 and 20 packs for discount prices, but the contents have a wider range from 90s stuff up through new52/Rebirth era DC and concurrent Marvel stuff. So there seems to be a demand for this type of comics package since a lot of different retailers carry them. -M

yes I know that but what comic books are in those 10 for 10 dollars bagged? That's the whole point, you have to punk your money down to find out. It's a risk and that is part of the appeal, the sens of mystery as to what you will get. If you don't want the mystery, pick out 10 books from a dollar bin at a comic shop or convention instead, but if you by the sealed 10 for $10 package, you are going to get a random assortment of (either Marvel or DC) comics from the last 3-5 years. -M

They have grab bags at Five Below pretty often too.... 4 book for $5. Mostly they are relatively recent (2011-2013), but out of the 50 packages last time i looked at them 3-4 had some random 90s and one even 80s books. I wondered if they just had a deal with a local store instead of some sort remainder thing.

With so many comic shops closing over the last few years I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't wholesalers who specialize in bankruptcy buyouts buying up the inventory of the shops and packaging it up for places like Ollie's Five Below etc. -M

That could be. The Ollie's near me definitely has different packs than the Five below, but that doesn't mean they can't come from the same place. Or maybe one or more of the big stores do it? I could see Lone Star or Mile High doing it as a way to get rid out unmoveable inventory.
