Fantastic Four plays as one of those 1970's movies made in the old fashioned Hollywood ways? Hollywood bought outright all the rights and only utilize the name while tossing aside anything (like the ENTIRE concept) that remotely resembles the original comic book?

I enjoyed both FF movies with the Jessica Alba cast. The Silver Surfer one was the better of the two.

I enjoyed both FF movies with the Jessica Alba cast. The Silver Surfer one was the better of the two. I do recall liking those two FF films as well, Chiklis as the Thing was inspired casting I thought. Although after a decade of seeing Evans as Cap in the MCU, I would find it a little hard to go back watching him as Johnny nowadays. As for this more recent film, I occasionally see airings of it on the Encore channels or one of the FX channels yet I still can't bring myself to watch it. Yes, I'm biased by all the negative reviews I've seen of it beforehand (including here) so I feel no desire whatsoever to watch it. |

Regarding the 2015 movie, when an unreleased FF movie, filmed in 1994 with a budget of $4.50, is better than a so-called blockbuster, we have a problem!

I was a bit surprised that they dumped the cast of the Alba version. Both movies made money, and I remember going to see the second movie in a midnight showing.

There's a (well deserved, IMHO) hatchet job on this film on CBR today: Fant4stic is the worst superhero film of the decade(We'll swiftly move on past the point that the decade doesn't finish for another year, I think that argument is lost in the court of mass opinion, even when the mass as wrong, wrong, wrong! Ahem) |

I enjoyed both FF movies with the Jessica Alba cast. The Silver Surfer one was the better of the two. The most disappointing thing about this movie ... I hardly saw a glimpse of Galactus and that's bothers me so much ... I had to see it twice to make sure that I did not miss a thing and I was still disappointed in it. |
