It was a toss-up between whether I should post this here or in the Modern forum, but since it would probably be of more interest to Classic fans... Has anyone seen the two-page Snickers ads which have been running in recent DC comics? There's another one out this week with enough of a Jose Luis Garcia Lopez vibe to make me wonder if its actually him (this one has disco era Batgirl and Robin in it). Anyone else get a kick out of these?

Thanks for sharing those.
What publications are these in? What date? I like them!
Oh, Snickers was called Marathon here in the UK, but it became Snickers (probably around the early 90s).

Thanks for sharing those. What publications are these in? What date? I like them! Oh, Snickers was called Marathon here in the UK, but it became Snickers (probably around the early 90s). And Smarties are a chocolate bar in the UK, aren't they? Not the little round things that we have in Canada. Or is the States which doesn't have the circles but instead has them as bars? I remember being in London and asking for a lemonade and getting 7-Up. "That's what lemonade is here," a friend told me. I'm still not sure if that's true or if I were just being played with (I remember a friend's relative asking me if we have squirrels in Canada and telling her "Oh you mean ground fish? Is that what 'squirrels' mean?") Anyhoo, the most recent one (which I mentioned but couldn't find scans of) appeared in, I think, a comic called Batman Universe. The others I've seen, as Michael mentioned, in the past couple of months, but I can't remember the titles since if I look through a modern comic at all, it's only for a few seconds before boredom sets in. Probably a Batman title, but I can't narrow it down further than that.

The correct answer is that Smarties are available in BOTH forms. The bars came out probably 3-4 years ago. Most people buy the tubes.
I love the differences in our languages. We say "jumper" (which is odd) while you say "sweater". But "rubbish bin" sounds better than "trashcan".
And please start driving on the right side of the road, guys.
So I can get back on topic (sorry for the thread drift), the Snickers ads remind me of the Hostess Cakes ads. Not that I think they were sold here, but they were fun. Must have been lovely given the amount of crooks who stopped fleeing to eat them.
Incidentally, I heard a rumour that Snickers will be renamed Marathon soon (here in the UK).

Its funny after all this time, and all the movies and cartoon, they STILL think of Adam West's version as the Batman (as evidenced by Chief O'Hara in the ad)

The two ads are from different eras of Batman. Did they do one with Kane/Finger Batman too?

The Golden Age strip is the big winner of the lot.

Old Snickers Ads --- About 5-7 years ago?Batman and Superman dealing with Doomsday; Batman will handle this. Batman offered Doomsday a SNICKERS Bar! Doomsday turned into Wonder Woman! This probably the first one and I downloaded a copy of these pictures and I was surprised that I kept this for a long time and I think that these ads came out the time when DC did the New 52 ... a year or two later and not positive about it.

She takes off her mask and her entire costume changes? And how did she make her hands look old? That doesn't make any sense.

Here's a Snickers ad which uses a surprisingly accurate Joker for its basis.
