As a kid, there were three toy lines that featured characters with holographic images on their chestplates: Visionaries, Super Naturals, and Battle Beasts.

Yes, as a kid, it was quite appealing to not only have action figures, but those with holographic chests. But were holographic chests an 80s fad?

To the knowledgeable people here:

1.) Were there any toy lines prior to those that featured holographic chests?
2.) Have there been any toy lines since that have featured holographic chests or was it truly an 80s fad?

The 80s was a cool era for toys. We got mini-comics with the likes of Masters of the Universe and Super Powers. The Secret Wars toy line had holographic shields. And we got mystical action figures with holographic chests. All good fun.
