That is really cool, I say! It's not a strong point for me either. I don't always remember everything. Did you go see the movie?Yep. Didn't make it to the premiere over in Texarkana (same county as Fouke, site of the sightings & the film), but I remember that for some reason we were driving by on the highway that night & the spotlights surrounding the theater & beaming up into the night sky couldn't be missed. The movie was a bit disorienting in some ways for people who lived in the vicinity. The narrator's voice was extremely familiar -- he was the main weatherman for Texarkana's NBC affiliate (the only station there, in fact; it was split between there & Shreveport, which is where the area's ABC & CBS stations were wholly based), & he was also the pitchman for a lot of ads. The guy who directed the movie, Charles B. Pierce, was "Mayor Chuckles" of the Laff-a-Lot Club, the same station's after-school cartoon show when I was in elementary school. Cool! I didn't know any of that! That's actually really cool! Thanks for sharing. So, you say the movie was disorienting for the locals. Was it that way for you?

I FINALLY found my Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer after two months of searching! I always get a bottle every year, and normally it comes out mid-September, but this year, they were late. Also, it was the last bottle in the whole store! Talk about LUCK!

Yuck indeed! -M That guy looks...very familiar. I know him from somewhere. That looks like the Nostalgia Critic. He has a youtube channel and does reviews that are funny and/or annoying depending on how you like him. He will be forever endeared to me for his fantastic review/critique of M. Night Shamalamadingdong's The Last Airbender's utter abominable failings as a standalone film and adaption of Avatar: The Last Airbender TV show. If you were a fan of the show and/or rightfully disgusted by the movie, it is worth watching the whole thing. Such vindication!

I've done that 2 or 3 times, though at least the resulting (non-)beverage has been iced, not hot. I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've never had any normally hot beverage cold. I should try that! Speaking of hot beverages cold, when I was a kid we didn't quite get the concept of "iced tea". We heard about it and decided to try to make it. We made tea the way we'd usually had it, hot water, tea bag, cream & sugar. Then we put ice cubes in it and drank it. It was then we realized we were probably doing something wrong... By the way, been meaning to ask, your signature line seems familiar. Is that from Disney's Robin Hood movie? It was a favorite of my daughter's when she was young.

Only from hearing the weatherman/TV pitchman's voice as narrator.

It's the song during Robin and Little John's running from the sheriff at the start of the movie. (It's my favorite Disney movie with Jungle Book not far behind.) Edit:

My favorite he did was on Food Fight. I didn't get to watching this one, but now...I think I shall! I agree the movie was horrid. Please, go watch the show! Thanks for helping me! It was starting to bug me!

I've done things along the same lines with various ideas and concepts! And yes! The song near the opening! I adore Robin Hood! I debated quoting Robin Hood or Lion King, both are childhood favorites. That's really cool that you remembered it. I recite it often in various ways and most people just look at me like I'm nuts.

This morning, we are at a cabin on vacation. Usually, I make instant coffee. But out here, Mimi makes non-instant coffee in a pot. Well, I'm so used to adding sugar, cream, and instant coffee to a cup that I did that and poured coffee into that cup...before realizing my mistake. Needless to say that stuff didn't taste right. Also, I think I make to many coffee mistakes.

Usually an expression of excitement, but I alter the meaning by altering the tone! Usually sarcasm, because I'm a sarcastic person. It's also my favorite Disney movie, too, along with The Lion King (both 1 and 2)

I don't think I saw an animated Disney flick till I was well into my 30s -- Fantasia. Not an animation guy, really, though I've seen a handful (Heavy Metal, The Hobbit, the first Lord of the Rings, Iron Giant, some anime thing that a fellow editor lent me about 20 years ago, at least part of Wizards, probably a couple of others I'm not thinking of right now).

Everyone in my family drinks coffee. I started drinking coffee when I was 3. It got candied up with milk and sugar. That's how we drank it as kids.
I have it with breakfast and a Stevia or as close to it as I can find.
Starbucks - not for me. Overpriced and not to my liking. YMMV
Love iced coffee !
My wife never drank coffee until a couple of years ago, sometimes, having it candied up with a dessert after a fine meal.
I love my Keurig and buy different variety packs off the internet.
Last year when the kids came I had all kinds of different coffees and teas they could pick from.
I've never had a bad coffee for my Keurig until I asked Susan to pick one up at the store. Of course she figures she'll save a $ 1, so she picks up the only one on sale. The worst coffee I've ever had, and an old brand : 8 O'Clock. I was horrified and almost took them back to the store.
Tully's has been a nice dark roast I discovered. Also, Subway and Burger King both have surprisingly good coffee. I've asked both what brand and it's the same : Seattle's Best. Starbuck's bought them out and I can now buy it in bags at Target.
Until February, I was drinking a 6 pack a day, or more, of Snapple Diet Peach Tea. Delicious, 0 calories, non-carbonated.
Then I got kidney stones.
The top 3 offensive things kidney stone patients should avoid are coffee, tea, and chocolate followed closely by peanut butter. Not as big on chocolate, but I love the other three.
So, I've switched from Snapple to Gatorade 2 in various flavors as a substitute.
All this coffee talk has me wanting a cup in the morning.
Oh, and to add to the spirits talk, most blended scotches are horrid. Single malts are truly a beautiful thing as has been noted.
And Adam, take a word of advice from someone whose family was in the beverage business for many years : Spirits, no question, you get what you pay for.
There are exceptions, of course, but a good rule of thumb is this : Buy top shelf. That's the good stuff. Smooth, refined, won't rip your head apart nearly as bad as the rot gut on the bottom shelf. As you can guess, the closer to the top shelf the better the quality and vice versa.
