I see you used an image with the text boxes conveniently cropped, specifically the "p.s." from Stan and Roy...  Probably Code driven, it's from Avengers 60. Can't have heroes guzzling booze in the Silver Age |

The Comics Code says nothing about depicting alcohol use (though it does ban ads for booze). But, sure, the editorial disclaimer here is certainly in the "What about the children?" spirit of the Code.

I'm on the wagon again... red wine one night, and then another night two pear ciders, were each apparently too much (I have warnings on two of my prescriptions about them not interacting well with alcohol). It was probably as much all the strange foods people thrust at you... smoked oysters, chocolates, tarts, nog, cheeses, sausages, pickles, herring, marshmallows, ouzo candies... but I had two middle of the nights in a row of on the floor sweating/existing/staying near the bathroom.  This thread is like a holiday flashback for me. I'll probably vote for the most sinister cover!  |

Uncanny X-Men #145 by Dave Cockrum and Josef Rubinstein I used to trace this cover image of Storm, to use for creating my own heroes when I was in High School. if you tilt it sideways, it looks like she's flying. .so I had many heroes of my own design with long hair, and flowing capes, that used this body image form Cockrum. |
