Romita Sr drew some of the most Lucious women in the Silver/Bronze Age.

Happy 90th birthday, indeed to a great, enormously decent man. There's no end or adequate way to measure the man's astounding talent, versatility and influence on the comics medium, merchandising and more.
One of the industry's few, true masters.

Happy Bithday, "Jazzy". One of my all-time Top 3 classic comics artists....he could be #1 on any given day, depending on how I'm feeling. Certainly he's my number 1 Spider-Man artist.

Very small sample of John Romita's brilliance-- -- Daredevil #17 with Frank Giacoia inks.

Great, great stuff, tarkintino Ditko's defining run on Spidey is a remarkable achievement but Romita will always be "my" Spider-Man artist.

I liked Romita Sr. best on Captain America I guess, you can see that a lot of his Spider-Man went into the '60s Krantz cartoon version.

He's one of my favourite Spidey artists.
Didn't a lot of his Spidey art end up on merchandise? For me, that's a factor in how good something is (although I know a case can be made for merchandise bearing the artwork of whomever is drawing a character at the time). But I've seen his artwork on lots of merchandise over time. His Spidey is great!

There's a figure of him that was excerpted from a cover of Spidey swinging over a group of protesters that appeared in so many places that when I finally saw the original cover it looked weird to me (and still does).

Even today, "retro" Marvel images on clothing, posters, cups and all manner of products still bear his work. It would be difficult to find another Marvel artist who consistently had work appear on as much merchandising than Romita's.

Speaking of merchandising, here's Romita's comic for Aurora's 1974 reissue of their Spider-Man model kit, rebranded as Comic Scenes:
