I think some sites work only in geographic areas (I'm in Europe so Europe-wide legislation means some news sites don't work). People from outside Europe have also been unable to access links I've shared.
I hope you find a good site. Imgur has its problems, hopefully it'll work again soon.

Interesting, I'm in Croatia, and so far Imgur is one of the only image sharing sites that has worked for me without a glitch, i.e., I encounter no problems with uploading, and the images are visible to everyone when I post links to them here. I'm surprised you can't use it in Spain, as it would seem to me that the same accessibility issues would apply (both EU member states, etc.). |

If it had required a phone number, like you, I wouldn't have gone through with it. |

Imgur wanting a phone number is what made me not sign up there... I know so many people who get barraged with telemarketers!

I'm fed up with companies demanding phone numbers. I ordered a DIY brochure online. They demanded a phone number. Me putting 0000000 in the phone number box came back as "invalid number". So I gave them my number. And when they tried ringing me, I blocked the number (iPhone).

I'm in the US and I've been using Imgur for a few years now to post images here and other similar forums, and I've never signed up or created an account with them. I'm not using it for family albums or anything personal that I want to keep, just for the images I post on forums.

I tested it once with one image, it showed up on the forum, but I closed the window with imgur and not long after the image was blank... gone. I never tried again and didn't want to sign up with my phone number. A lot of 'free' places mine data and sell things like your phone number to make money, can't blame them, and some change over time as we all saw with photo bucket. Others like pro boards I guess get advertising revenue but with ad blockers and such they can only ask you to turn blockers off for them, although I did see one that refused me to read a page with a large blocking image you couldn't turn off unless you turned ad blocker off. Now I sometimes get sites telling me my ad blocker is on even when I have turned it off for them... anyway, the no account hosting of imgur did not work for me beyond a few minutes.  |

Ah, sorry to hear that. I assume you copied the BBCode link, for forum pics, and then just pasted it into your post...don't know why your image would have vanished. That sucks.  |

Yes, and it worked originally but then disappeared, and I even went to the address directly and it was gone. Maybe I did something wrong though... I might try again sometime. Maybe they thought the photo of me and my BF broke some rule... hoo nose?  |
