Best Barry Smith Conan cover. (...) Granted that is a great posed cover, but I will argue that Conan #16's cover: Night of the Frost Giant's Daughter is better IMO. While there is more "detail" in your choice, I believe Frost Giant's has more thought, design and style which helps it stand out stronger and more effectively in memory and mind. Well, those are indeed both fine covers, but Barry Smith's masterpiece is, of course, this one:

Neal Adams is my second favorite artist, and I'm having a hard time deciding on his best. Batsywatsy's choice is a great one, and here's another classic:  Or maybe this one...  |

That's the problem, Artists such as Romita, Adams, Kirby and others have so many truly great (and some legendary) covers, that its close to impossible to pick "the one." But when it comes to Kirby...  ...this is probably my favorite cover, and in the running as the greatest Captain America cover ever produced. So many of the elements of the character--that which defined his heroism and anguish are all there. |
