New Teen Titans # 16 ( 1980) after Dick tells Kory that he's not interested in her romantically, she gets a boyfriend. And just like what happens so often in real life, he gets jealous that he's been replaced so quickly.

And just like what happens so often in real life, he gets jealous that he's been replaced so quickly. Another moment of that relationship that sounded very true (to me) was when the two were a couple and a brooding Robin, a bit annoyed by Kory’s constant cheerfulness, asked her ”don’t you every enjoy a bad moment?” A bit uncalled for, but reflecting the difference in their character. I can fully imagine Dick (or Bruce) feeling more comfortable when dealing with problems than facing happiness.

Avengers #42 The splash page has Hawkeye calling out Hercules for being a lazy do nothing and Scarlett Witch agreeing. I loved Hawkeye back in the day.

Really, given the character history, it made more sense than red. She is of Romani stock, from the Balkans. red hair isn't unknown there (it is seen often in Northern Italy, for example); but, the Romani tended to black hair.

Brave and The Bold # 182. This is one of my top 50 comics of all time because Alan Brennert examines the complexity of grief. Robin of E2 totally resents the E1 Batman but has to work with him to find out who is attacking them through their weapons and equipment. Robin lashes out at the Caped Crusader and you feel bad for both of them.

Black haired Wanda? Is that a thing? She had it at the beginning. Actually she started out as brown-haired in Magneto's Brotherhood, when she appeared in the X-Men comic. Then when she and Pietro moved over to the Avengers (Avengers #16), she now had black hair, from Avengers #16-#53. She and Pietro left the Avengers in #53. When she and Pietro returned to the Avengers in #75, she now had brown hair again, or somewhat reddish-brown...at any rate her hair was now basically brown again. Marvel poetically described her hair color "auburn" in the Avengers #81 lettercol, where it's explained that Avengers scribe Roy Thomas had come upon those X-Men issues and so when he brought her back to the Avengers he wanted her hair to go back to its original brown.

New Teen Titans ( 1980) # 33 This wasn't a nice thing to say to Kory and the others were quick to call her out for it.

X-men I always thought this but was surprised that Wolverine would be big enough to not just have sex with her.

Perhaps the only time I've ever seen this and it still impresses me...
About ten years ago, there was an issue of Batman Confidential in which Batman goes up against the new King Tut. He walks into a room which he knows must be set up to kill him. Seeing a speer along the wall he thinks to himself something like "Better take this - you never know what'll come in handy when walking into a death trap". Next panel shows him taking it from the wall. Sure enough, the door slams behind him, and the expected trap is sprung. A combination of athletic and mental gymnastics saves the day, but at no point does he ever use that speer or even think about it again. Not even in a tension building "uh oh, this speer broke and I'll have to think of something else way" - it's just forgotten about. Normally, such a step-up would go: 1. Batman walks into trap. 2. Batman needs tool to escape. 3. Provide tool before he goes in. 4. Batman uses tool to escape. Here, however, it was: 1. Batman walks into trap. 2. Batman needs tool to escape. 3. Provide tool before he goes in. 4. Turns out tool wouldn't come in handy for this trap so just ignore it.
A complete violation of Chekov's gun.

Avengers # 224 While Hank Pym is in jail for stealing from a military installation ( he was set up by Egghead), Tony stark gets involved with his newly divorced ex-wife Janet. Captain America confronts him and the dialogue is real life stuff. Boundaries Tony. Boundaries.

Avengers # 216This is the first time I ever saw this type of moral discussion among superheroes. Do we kill the all powerful person who we have at a disadvantage ? This theme is repeated and referenced in Fantastic Four # 244 when they have Galactus after repelling his latest attack.
