I'm a Neal Adams fan. He's best work from the 70's I will always adore. That said, I've never been able to figure out his inability to draw the Thing's head. It's mystifying given that he's so technically skilled. This is not an age thing, since he clearly couldn't draw Ben's head back in the early 70's. I imagine if he had been anyone else, editors would have had it redrawn by Romita Sr. or John Buscema.

I still love Adams work, I put up with his writing for it. But Adams drawing a Waid script? I am so there. Same. Adams is a top 3 comic book artist of all time for me, and if someone put a gun to my head I'd probably pick him number one. I'm not a fan of Adams' writing from what I've read, and I had to drop the latest endeavor he did because of it. Still, the art alone is usually worth the ticket price. Waid is my favorite comic book writer of all time, so having the pair team up is truly remarkable. I hope they knock it out of the park.

Considering how Adams' recent work has looked I can imagine exactly how it will look. Like crap.
I haven't seen much of his recent work but the Batman thing he did a few years ago I thought looked interesting, as far as the artwork went. A lot rougher than his classic stuff, for sure. I'm not a huge fan of his style when applied to superhero comics to begin with, so that's probably a factor in my response.
Yeah I'll admit his style in recent year is a lot more rough, and just doesn't have the polish it used to when he was at the top of his mark during the 70's. Since I'm a fan though I'm always inclined to at least check out anything new he has to offer.

I like Waid on the FF. His run with Mike Wieringo was awesome. I like Adams art but I don't think his style fits the FF. Reed is too muscular and Ben's face is wonky:
Yeah, Ben's face looks wonky indeed. Hopefully it's not a continuing problem with this new story.

Interesting that Adams got top billing on the cover that was posted. Does that mean it’s his story and Waid is just adding the dialogue ?

Waid's ideas work well with the grear talents, so there's a strong chance this will be another winner.

I was just thinking the other day how odd a Neal Adams drawn FF would have looked in the late 60s or early 70s, when only Kirby and a couple other artists (Romita, Buescema) had ever worked on the series. Now we'll get to see, but of course the effect won't be the same as there have been so many different styles on the FF book since then, several of them influenced by Adams himself. I'll still feel some mild curiosity over how it'll look, I'm sure. Considering how Adams' recent work has looked I can imagine exactly how it will look. Like crap. I have chalked up his average art lately to him also inking and writing the books. Here's hoping with Adams being only the artist it will be better.
