Initially, I thought as soon as I see Avengers 89, that is what I will pick because I love that cover.
However, Crimebuster comes out of nowhere with a cover I have never seen, is army related AND has pirates?!? Sold!

Runner-Up: foxley for the reasons M.W. Gallaher stated. With the focus on the expressions of the witnesses, Aparo took a chance on missing out on the selling point of this cover but instead heightened the tension. Truly an under-rated artist.

I'm a little surprised not to see Sin City, but maybe that scene was never on a cover.

Not sure about anyone else, but in the 70s I counted him in my top five superhero comic artists of the decade, and I still rated him high in the 80s. He was the only artist who was as defining whenever illustrating Batman as Adams in that period. He carved his own face on the Mount Rushmore of great artists overall, but the 70s in particular.

but I have to go with the one that wowed me and i kept going back to. So my vote this week:

Probably the only time ME Lad was so prominently featured on the cover during that LSH Adventure run ... and he strikes out! Anyway, this is a favorite cover of mine from that era, with that gorgeous Swan-Klein art
