From WB Releases Box Art For Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis Posted on October 16, 2014 by Dan Wickline So yesterday, Warner Bros announced bunch of movies that included Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Aquaman (to be played by Jason Momoa). Today they have released the official cover art for the Justice League: Throne of Atlantis animated film. Interesting enough besides the obvious Aquaman on the front cover, we also get Wonder Woman and Cyborg. No Flash, Shazam or Green Lantern who all have movies coming as well. So why leave them off the cover? And why is Cyborg doing the gratuitous butt shot? Justice League: Throne of Atlantis goes on sale January 27th.

That cover doesn't really inspire me to buy this flick.

Eh. I don't know, it just looks kind of generic to me and the glossy air brushed look it has makes it look like the cover to a fashion mag to me rather than the cover to a super hero book so it just turns me off.

The posing is very awkward. Superman looks like his right his is dislocated as his leg juts out at an angle human (or Kryptonian) physiology doesn't really allow for, and his right leg itself sort of curves rather than bends, like his was one of those bendable rubber figures not a flesh and blood person. Both Cyborg and Aquaman are engaged in odd pelvic thrust stances. From the way he is turned and that odd pelvic thrust, it reminds me of a little boy who just peed in the ocean, looking back to see if he got caught. And Aquaman has a few issues-he looks like a brunette wearing a badly fitting blonde wig (or a bad Jericho of the New Teen Titans wig) first of all. His hair doesn't sit on his head in any way the looks like it grew there or is attached, and that odd facial expression combined with the uncomfortable back arch and pelvic thrust really comes across as someone clenching their butt cheeks holding it until the picture is snapped so he can run to the restroom.
Batman is the only one caught in a swirling wind as the ends of his cape are blown in several directions at once, none of which is the direction Superman's cape or anyone else's hair is being blown. Everyone else's is being blown back towards the right hand edge of he picture while BAt's is being blown to the left and forwards. And Wonder Woman, poor wonder Woman, she is shoved to the back and mostly obscured as if they are embarrassed to have the token woman in the picture, Plus the way the taper of her sword is angled, it would be pencil thin at the hilt and would break if it hit anything.
Yeah, but aside from all that, great art.

I'm not that happy with the artwork too. The colors looks good, but the rest of it isn't ... Cyborg and Wonder Woman looks too plain to me. Batman looks dull. Superman looks okay, and only Aquaman looks excellent and that's what they are trying to showcase it as an Aquaman's Movie using the Justice League as a backdrop characters here.
It's okay ... but, it's doesn't make me to go out and buy it!

I do agree with the Superman leg posing, though....Looks unnatural. Aquaman, I am fine with the pose, but Cyborg looks more like the old days of Superheroes...Chest puffed out, so that their bodies make an arc of sorts, but still not bad.

Aside from the awkward Superman leg, I rather like it. It's got nice blended colors.
