Someone needs to tell the people making the DC movies have forgotten that superhero movies should be fun. They just keep getting darker and darker. At least the Marvel movies have some lightness to them.

At least the Marvel movies have some lightness to them. Comic books and comic book movies: these aren't your kids comics anymore! All grown up and forgotten what they are meant to be. That's probably why I don't collect new comics. It seems like the only fun recent stuff (at least from the Big 2) is stuff like MC2 or an occasional elseworlds thing like Scooby Doo Team-Up or the Superman/Bug Bunny thing. This is supposed to be escapist fantasy, people! |

This is supposed to be escapist fantasy, people! Why is it supposed to be that? Why are comics different than prose literature that can span a nigh infinite variety of genres? |
