Just curious if anyone is a fan of this series? I currently have Animal (the first released about 12 years ago I believe) Earth, Universe, History and Prehistoric Life. I've browsed them fairly regularly but I've never read them cover to cover. I'm about to start reading them all in full because it's high time I get a good grasp on what the hell's going on out there in reality. Sure, I probably don't need to know the nature of what kind of rocks make up the stuff under my feet, or the details on an amphibian that died 200 million years ago, but I WANT to know. So...any fans?

Not sure if we have any of the Smithsonian series, but the DK books are excellent in general. We have several on different topics, all fun and informative.
Sure, you don't need to know about this kind of stuff, but isn't that what makes it interesting?

They certainly are excellent books. I believe they also did ones called Science and Human and maybe one or two more. I'll probably wind up getting them all. DK has me as a lifetime customer.

Huge fan here!! I don't have them anymore, but I used to own a few. Mostly now I just swing down I the library and read them there. They're interesting and a great source of information!
