Days of no new post then I go away for 5 minutes lol… This one was originally only available in the 2-pack with Captain America on the Hasbro Pulse website. I preordered and received the pack several months ago. These are considered the original release of these figures hence the gold sticker on the front.  This one was also a Hasbro Pulse exclusive. Originally the only way to get this pack was to order it as a set with the other 3 2-packs for about $80. Later all 4 of the Hasbro Pulse exclusive packs started showing up at Walmart (and apparently Target) None of the figures from these packs should have a UPC code actually printed on the package. Probably some upc sticker instead.  This is the regular retail release.  I imagine the Hasbro Pulse exclusives started being shipped to retail because they never sold out. It’s probably just a way to get rid of overstock. |

Managed to find 2 gray Hulks at Target on Saturday. I must have missed the rest of the wave although they did have one Black Panther as well which I believe is part of the case of the wave 3 figures. Nice to know they’re getting out there.

Been seeing regularly 4-6 figures at my local Wal-Mart with the current figures. A mix of most all of them. I was really surprised on Sunday to see they had a full shelf of 20 or more for the double packed figures. All I see on the pegs at Target is singular Iron Man or Black Panther.

Managed to find 2 gray Hulks at Target on Saturday. I must have missed the rest of the wave although they did have one Black Panther as well which I believe is part of the case of the wave 3 figures. Nice to know they’re getting out there. Black Panther was Wave 2, but Grey Hulk is indeed Wave 3, so they are out there! Been seeing regularly 4-6 figures at my local Wal-Mart with the current figures. A mix of most all of them. that's a pretty big mark up at bigbadtoystore! Interesting that Entertainment Earth is selling the singles for $10.99 (a slightly lesser mark up) but the set for $83.99 (which is a premium even if you count the BP figure)... perhaps they're looking at that as a special bonus?

I wonder if that’s a pricing error on BBTS? The first two series are $63 and that’s not a discounted price. Seems odd to bump the price for a wave by nearly 30% when you have the previous two still sitting on shelves.

You’re actually getting 8 figures in the set at Entertainment Earth. You get doubles of one of the figures. It would cost almost $88 if you bought 8 figures separately. If you just buy the 6 new ones that’s $66 or 7 including Black Panther is obviously $77. BBTS did hike the price up pretty good this time though. Their set is only for the 6 new ones and is nearly $80. IDK, once you factor in shipping cost at EE as opposed to BBTS they’re practically the same price if you’re buying each one individually. |

So far I have spotted figures from Wave 3 at both Target and Walmart. I’ve had the gray Hulk for about a month now but was able to find the full wave yesterday at Walmart. There was a Black Panther figure there as well but I’m still unsure if he was part of the Wave 3 case set or just leftover from Wave 2. There was also a Magneto and Human Torch there as well so all 3 might be leftovers from the 2 prior waves. It does appear that the Hulk is packed 2 per case tho because this is the exact same thing I found at Target last month.
How is everyone else’s hunt going? Any signs of Wave 4 yet?

The funny thing about the 2-packs is that only half the Walmarts I go into seem to have them or at least have a significant number of them. One has so many you’re practically tripping over them but the next has absolutely zero. Some also have them clearanced at $10 while others are still $20. This is about the time for resets in both stores. Basically July begins the 2nd half of the year so new stuff should be coming soon if it hasn’t already in your area. I’ve noticed a lot of new Masters of the Universe and G.I. Joe stuff popping up so that’s probably a good sign. Hopefully these Marvel Retros aren’t far behind. Just a tip for anyone looking… don’t forget to check the very top shelf if you don’t see something below at Walmart. I found a case of the previous wave up there a few months ago but I already had everyone I needed in my cart so I just put them out for the next person. If Walmart has them they’re likely to be on the very bottom… or the very top shelf in an extremely small package. They’re not typically on pegs. *EDIT* Not sure if it was mentioned here before but for anyone searching for the previous 2 waves, GameStop is a good place to look. I’ve seen some of these every time I go in one. FYE also carries these but at a higher price. |
