Mego officially announced Wave 10 today. Preorders are up at some places, and they should be available at retail in Jan/Feb of 2021. It's a big wave. No pics yet. More info at the Mego MuseumThere's six I am interested in: Bride, Phantom of the Red Death, Hammer Dracula and the 3 DC figures. Not sure what the Plush Stan Lee will be. This wave will see the debut of the Ultraman figures Mego go the license too, and Avatar the Last Air Bender-apparently one of their retail partners wanted this license bad so Mego went out and got it. There's more Star Trek coming too, but I am not sure if it's Wave 9 or 10-more Next Generation figures-Q and Lucutus of Borg, and the debut of Star Trek Discovery figures (Michael Burnham, Capt. Pike and Saru). It looks like some older licenses, which did not do well at retail, have been shelved-unfortunately for me this includes the Lord of the Rings stuff. -M

I saw them up for pre-order but there’s no way I’d do that without a picture. I’m fairly interested in The Bride, The Phantom of the Red Death and the Hammer Dracula.
I might be interested in The Riddler, depending on the sculpt and general design. I was super excited that Mego was getting back a DC license and then was completely underwhelmed by what I’ve seen of the product. It also doesn’t help that they appear to be exclusive to a store I’ve never heard of before.

It's not so much exclusive, it's that Meijer (a midwest WalMart like grocery/retail chain) was the first to buy the line. It will be available elsewhere if/when other retailers jump on board. I believe Walmart is expanding their Mego presence in their electronic/collectibles section-they were only available at a small number of stores, but Walmart has expanded which stores will carry them. All of Wave 9 except the DC figures are going to Walmart. Not sure what the retail landscape for Wave 10 will be. It seems Mego has given up tryin to place these in toy departments, which was a stumbling block at launch with only Target agreeing to do so, and marketing to the collector corners now. -M

I've just mostly consigned myself to having to get them "mail-order." I really don't like the look of the 8" DC figures. Not that I was super interested in Superman or WW anyway. But the Batman did nothing for me. I still could see myself possibly getting The Riddler because it's one I didn't have as a kid.

Here's a preview of the Hammer Dracula... -M I saw Brick Mantooth's "Mint off Card" video of that one. I'll be buying it. Went to the Walmart in Twin Falls Friday evening (we went and had Italian food since there isn't any in our town". There was signing and pegs for Megos but not a single one on the pegs.

So Mego just announced a deal with Disney/Fox to produce new Planet of the Apes Megos in both the 8 inch and 14 inch size. Deal was signed less than 48 hours ago so details are still being worked out and work on prototypes hasn't really started, so it could be late 2021 or 2022 before we see these, but I know there are some Apes fans here like shaxper who might be interested in this. -M

I’m not a huge Apes fan but I like them enough I may pick them up.

8″ Young Frankenstein Igor I'm excited about this. But I'm really hoping they modify the Willy Wonka head-sculpt and we get Dr. Fronken-steen. Oh...and I finally got my Creature From the Black Lagoon over the weekend. What a great figure.

Oh...and I finally got my Creature From the Black Lagoon over the weekend. What a great figure. I still need to track down/order a Creature. I've just had zero desire to buy toys during the pandemic. Books and comics yes, toys not so much. I did get the 3 DC releases at Meijer's, but that's about it. -M

I was excited about the DC figs until I saw them. They just did nothing for me. Look just far too modern. I'd like to see The Riddler, because that's a figure I wanted as a kid but didn't get. But my gut tells me I'll be passing on the DC figures.

Apparently POTA Cornelius and Apollo Creed from Rocky are also part of the wave 12 line up.
