Yeah—I was there last February. Also hit the Toy Museum which is about a 10-minute walk from there. Sounds like a CCF meetup in Austin may be in order once Covid is over! I was in Austin for work in 2001, and really wanted to take my wife there one day. That's... a sign! |

well.. since I live here, I'm certainly in. I actually live about 10 minutes from the Oasis - the restaurant with decks over Lake Travis - with beautiful sunsets, and only a mile or so overlooking Hippie Hollow (Texas' only nude beach - a State park at that!. . and no, you cannot see the nudes from the Oasis decks - at least not with the "naked" eye). only down side is that the food is pretty terrible. . BUT the drinks are fantastic, and after a drink or two in the evening, you don't really mind the mediocre food. but there's TONS to do here, and I can most certainly recommend things. www.oasis-austin.com/ |

Austin is on my list for a visit someday too. My wife's son lives in the Lost Creek area and my college roommate lives on the north side.

whelp, since Texas is in the middle of a major winter event (it's supposed to be 8 as high on Monday), with lots of ice overnight?
plans got cancelled and will be avail. tomorrow if there's gonna be a zoom meet-up.
