Ivanhoe, starring the late Roger Moore as the titular character, debuted on ITV 65 years ago today, running for one season of 39 episodes. I haven’t seen this. I don’t recall it being repeated in my lifetime so far. I am unaware of any VHS or DVD releases. So this is a series that I have only “experienced” via reading an episode guide. There’s nothing on Wikipedia about availability. I remember seeing that here in the States as a kid, and found a couple of episodes on a DVD compilation of old 50s TV shows, along with the likes of "William Tell" and "Robin Hood" (with Richard Todd). Here's a link to the opening for your nostalgic pleasure. I hate to say it, but the melody and quite a few of the lyrics came right back to me as I watched it. (And it looks like a couple of episodes, anyway, are on YouTube.)

I've never seen any Blake's 7 either. Everyone says it's great, so I'd like to get to it someday. But the picture up top only has six people. What's up with that? Someone had to take the photo. Doh! Of course. But why couldn't they just have gotten whoever ran around with them holding the video camera on their televised adventures?
Or was it always one of the seven doing the filming also, and there were never more than six on screen? ps The liberator's computer, Zen, was #7, then they got a super-computer, called Orac, which is the plexiglass box thing, in the magazine photo.
Supporting your theory, there are only five humans in the picture with the box.

T and T debuted in syndication 35 years ago today. Running for 65 episodes over 3 seasons, it starred Mr. T as a former boxer accused of a crime he didn’t commit. While acquitted, he had to rebuild his life as a private eye.
I never saw this. I don’t recall it airing here. IMDb doesn’t list any UK airing (although good luck trying to find anything on IMDb’s cluttered, user-unfriendly site)
Anyone here seen it? I did enjoy The A-Team, and I am sure I’d have enjoyed this.

I’ve started watching Death in Paradise on BBC’s streaming service.
On the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie, a British police officer is murdered. So Detective Inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) is sent from the Metropolitan Police to investigate the murder, leading to a fish out of water scenario. He then stays on the island, against his wishes.
I’ve enjoyed the first three episodes. Poole is stoic, pompous and uptight - and continues to wear a suit despite the heat of the Caribbean. What I like is seeing Poole gather all the suspects together before revealing the identity of the killer (first episode was gripping as the murder had taken place in a panic room, which had me wondering how the murderer had fled the room).
Great scenery, too.

I'd like to see the episode with Gemma Chan guest starring. But is this old enough to be a clasic tv series?

Well, the first episode aired in 2011, and that is starting to feel like a very different world…

I’ve started watching Death in Paradise on BBC’s streaming service. One of my fave shows. I started watching new episodes on the local PBS station when Kris Marshall was the lead and worked my way from the beginning when it was streaming on Netflix. Now that it's on Britbox (here in the States), I have had a ritual of getting a subscription whenever the new season comes out. I've also grabbed the novels that Robert Thorogood has written but have yet to get around to reading them.

I bought the revived Battlestar Galactica series set, to replace one I sold several years ago, when I was between jobs. That might have been a mistake. I am up to the last half of the final season, but I have sat through a LOT of episodes with someone dying or being given chemo, in a hospital bed, while someone sits at their bedside, holding their hand, reading to them, or talking to them. Get your damn asses up in space and blow up some Cylons! Next thing you know, I will come across a deleted scene where Adama gathers up Roslin's clothes to take to their equivalent of Goodwill. Frack realism; just feed me escapist, distracting fantasy! I suppose if they had put Muffy in this thing he would have died of a computer virus.

The series really went off the rails the last season or so, when I think it became apparent that they didn't have a plan for bringing the story to a conclusion. It was great for the first few years, though.

I actually like it, all the way to the end; it's just hitting too close to home in many of these episodes, with scenes in sickbay.

Personally, and I could well be in the minority, I thought the show took itself far too seriously. Not saying everything needs to lighten up, but it almost felt like a documentary at times. I watched the Enterprise episode “A Night in Sickbay” last night, which managed to be serious and humorous at the same time. I don’t know, I feel the rebooted Battlestar Galactica could have been lighter, just a tad. Or at least showed some humour.

Here in the UK, Talking Pictures TV is showing The Lone Ranger from the beginning. I am ecstatic. I shall watch it!
I think I saw some colour episodes on Channel 4 in the 90s, but not really seen the series in full.
Does the Lone Ranger actually live anywhere? Like the A-Team, he does not appear to have a house.

Nope; he and Tonto roam the West, bringing law & order to the frontier.
